TAROX rear disc upgrade for the Audi A3 (8L) 1.8T Quattro
Made to order at the TAROX factory in northern Italy. The disc is a two-piece build, billet steel rotor on an anodised alloy bell, heat treated and CNC faced.
The kit fits an oversized rear disc to the car’s original caliper. A spacer bracket moves the caliper out to suit the bigger disc, so the standard handbrake carries on working and the ABS and ESP are untouched.
Kit contents:
- Pair of handed two-piece rear discs, 300mm x 22.0mm, vented
- Two CNC machined alloy caliper relocation brackets
- Vehicle specific hardware kit
Not supplied: calipers, pads and brake hoses. The kit runs on the car’s original rear calipers and pads.
Disc faces: supplied with the F2000 long curved groove face as standard. Sport Japan, C83, D95 and ZERO are available on request.
Fitment notes:
Price covers one complete rear axle kit, both sides. Minimum wheel size 16″. TAROX part number KMAU0308. Photos illustrative only.
Which kit would you actually recommend for this car?
We wrote it up properly: Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Audi TT compares the kits we rate for this car across budgets, from our own fitting experience. Worth five minutes before you decide.
Will it fit my car?
This kit is built for the car named in the listing, and the generation matters: hub design, hub bell shape, and caliper bracketry are car-specific even when the disc size looks the same. If your car is near a facelift year or an unusual variant, send us the registration and we will confirm the exact kit before you order.
Will it clear my wheels?
Tarox publish a minimum wheel size per kit rather than per disc size, and the same disc diameter genuinely differs between cars in their range, so we quote it per kit rather than guessing. Ask us with the kit and your wheel details and we will confirm the published figure and check spoke clearance.
What about my handbrake?
This is a rear kit, and rear upgrades interact with the handbrake, especially electronic parking brakes, where a caliper change is not always possible. Our guide on big brake kits and electronic handbrakes covers what fits and what does not, and we will confirm for your exact car before you order.
Which pad compound should I run?
It depends on use, not on the kit: fast road, track day, and race compounds behave very differently when cold and when worked hard. Our guide on brake pad compounds explains the choices for Tarox kits in plain terms, and heading to a circuit, our track day brake prep guide covers pads, fluid, and bedding in.
