The 8 Pot is Hi Spec’s heavy duty caliper. Eight staggered pistons sit in a 6082 T6 billet aluminium body and each caliper takes four pads, which gives a very large friction area.
A bolt-on front big brake conversion for the Ford Focus RS Mk1, built around 380mm x 34mm two piece discs on alloy bells and the 8 Pot caliper. Minimum wheel size is 19 inch, and as always check your own wheels clear the caliper before ordering.
Fits:
In the kit:
- Pair of 8 Pot calipers
- Caliper mounting brackets
- Pair of grooved discs, 380mm x 34mm
- Alloy mounting bells
- Fitting hardware
Brake pads and braided hoses are not included. Drop us an email or click to open a chat and we will match the right pads and hoses to this kit. Standard finish is black. It can also be ordered in blue, yellow, silver or red, which adds to the build time.
All Hi Spec calipers and discs are made to order in the UK, so please allow up to 28 working days. The image shows the 8 Pot caliper and may not match the exact parts supplied.
Will it fit my car?
This kit is built for the Ford Focus RS Mk1, front axle. The generation and variant matter, as hub design and caliper brackets are car-specific even when the disc size looks the same. If your car has been modified or sits near a model change, send us the registration and we will confirm the exact kit before you order.
Will it clear my wheels?
Hi Spec quote a minimum wheel size of 19in for this kit. Spoke shape and offset decide the real clearance at that size, so send us your wheel size, offset and make, ideally with a photo, and we will check before you order.
What is in the kit?
Pair of 8 Pot calipers, caliper mounting brackets, pair of grooved discs, 380mm x 34mm, alloy mounting bells and fitting hardware. Brake pads and braided hoses are not included, so tell us how the car is used and we will match the right pads and hoses to this kit.
What is the 8 Pot caliper?
The 8 Pot is Hi Spec's heavy duty caliper. Eight staggered pistons sit in a 6082 T6 billet aluminium body and each caliper takes four pads, which gives a very large friction area.
Which finish, and how long does it take?
Standard finish is black. It can also be ordered in blue, yellow, silver or red, which adds to the build time. Every Hi Spec caliper and disc is made to order in the UK, so allow up to 28 working days. If you need it for a set date, ask us before you order.
Which pad compound should I run?
It depends on use, not on the kit: fast road, track day and race compounds behave very differently when cold and when worked hard. Our guide on brake pad compounds explains the choices in plain terms, and if you are heading to a circuit, our track day brake prep guide covers pads, fluid and bedding in.
Do I need to upgrade the rear at the same time?
No. The front does the large majority of the braking, so a front kit alone is the normal first step and a balanced one. Upgrade the rear later if you want matched looks or you are building for sustained track work, and if the car has an electronic parking brake, read our guide on big brake kits and electronic handbrakes before planning that side.
Every brake kit here is built to order
We do not keep big brake kits on a shelf. Each one is put together for your car in the disc face, caliper colour and specification you choose when you order, so nothing is made until the order is placed. The site shows these as available because we can take the order and start it, not because it is boxed and waiting.
How long it takes
Brembo GT kits are made in Italy and run around six to eight weeks. Our UK built kits are quicker, and the exact time depends on the caliper and disc combination you pick. Ring us on 0115 989 3488 before you order and we will give you the current lead time for the kit you are looking at, not a general one.
Working to a date
If the car is booked in, or it is off the road, tell us the date when you call. We will tell you straight whether the kit will make it, and what the alternatives are if it will not.
Worth two minutes before you order
Wheel clearance catches people out. Send us your wheel make, size and offset and we will read it against the caliper clearance drawing first, because a kit that is already being built for you is not something we can simply swap.
