Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Volkswagen Vento

Sort the Vento brake catalogue by price and the 323mm Sport comes up first. That is not a smaller kit at a lower price: it is the third-largest disc in the range, and at £1,748.98 inc VAT it undercuts the 300mm entry kit by £241. The 305mm VR6 Sport lists £330 above it. The pricing does not track the disc size on the Vento, and that changes how you pick: on 17-inch wheels you can get a bigger disc for less money than the 16-inch options.

There is no HiSpec coverage for the Volkswagen Vento. The range is Tarox only: eleven kits across five disc sizes from 300mm to 330mm. Every kit arrives with Corsa pads already fitted in the calipers and vehicle-specific braided hoses in the box. The full Vento brake kit range is on the site if you want to browse it raw.

  • All five disc sizes covered by Tarox; no HiSpec kits list for the Vento
  • 300mm and 305mm clear 16-inch wheels; 318mm, 323mm and 330mm need 17 inch
  • Every kit includes Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses
  • Tarox split 300mm and 305mm by engine variant; confirm yours before ordering
  • 323mm Sport at £1,748.98 inc VAT undercuts the 300mm, 305mm and 318mm kits despite a bigger disc

The Volkswagen Vento. Eleven Tarox kits cover five disc sizes. On 17-inch wheels the 323mm Sport is the cheapest kit in the range.

Tarox: the only option for the Volkswagen Vento

HiSpec do not list a kit for the Volkswagen Vento. The eleven kits on this page are all from Tarox, built at the factory in northern Italy. That covers the car from a 300mm six-piston Sport up to the 330mm Sport, across five disc sizes and multiple engine-specific applications.

Tarox

Made at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy, hand assembled, and individually tested. Discs are heat treated and balanced to 0.05mm. Every Vento kit arrives with vehicle-specific braided hoses and Corsa pads already installed, with full ABS and ESP compatibility stated. Caliper colours: black, red, blue, green or gold. Disc styles: F2000, Sport Japan, C83, D95.

Engine variant: order the right listing

Tarox list the Vento by engine at 300mm, 305mm and one of the 318mm listings. The 323mm and 330mm cover two engine variants each. Ordering the wrong listing means the wrong brackets and the kit will not fit. If you are unsure which engine variant you have, ring us before placing an order and Cameron will confirm the correct part.

Wheel sizes across the range

Minimum wheel diameter comes from Tarox’s own published figures on tarox.co.uk, looked up per kit. The 300mm and 305mm Sport kits clear 16-inch wheels. Everything from 318mm up needs 17 inch. The range tops at 330mm, so there is no Tarox kit for the Vento that needs more than 17 inches.

If your Vento is on 17-inch wheels, the 323mm is the natural starting point: more disc, lower price, everything in the box.
Diameter is not the whole checkA 17-inch wheel can still foul a caliper at the spokes depending on how the wheel is profiled behind the face. Give Cameron the wheel make, model and offset alongside the diameter and he will confirm spoke clearance before anything gets ordered. Tarox publish a clearance template at tarox.com/en/tarox-brake-kit-fitting-guide/ if you want to measure first.

300mm Sport: 16-inch coverage across three engine variants

The 300mm Sport is the smallest disc in the Vento range and covers the most engines. Tarox list three separate kits at 300mm: one for the 1.8 GT, one for the 1.6i GT and one for the 2.0i. The disc is 300x26mm, the B32 six-piston caliper, and all three clear a 16-inch wheel at the same price. Pick the listing that matches your engine so the brackets go on correctly.

At £1,989.79 inc VAT, the 300mm is the second-cheapest kit in this range, behind the 323mm at £1,748.98. If the car is already on 17-inch wheels, Garreth’s call is to look at the 323mm first: bigger disc, same B32 caliper, £241 less. If the wheels are 15 inch or small-diameter aftermarkets, ring us; the 300mm needs a 16-inch minimum.

  • £1,989.79 inc VAT
  • Clears 16-inch wheels
  • 300 x 26mm disc, B32 six-piston caliper
  • Three engine-specific listings: 1.8 GT, 1.6i GT and 2.0i (same price across all three)
  • Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses included
  • Caliper colours: black, red, blue, green or gold; disc styles: F2000, Sport Japan, C83, D95

305mm Sport: 16-inch kit for the 2.0 GT and VR6

The 305mm Sport has two engine-specific listings, both for the performance variants: 2.0 GT and 2.8 VR6. The disc is 305x26mm, the same B32 six-piston caliper as the 300mm kit, and both clear 16-inch wheels. At £2,078.89 inc VAT, this is the most expensive kit at the 16-inch level, sitting £89.10 above the 300mm for 5mm more disc.

For a VR6 or a 2.0 GT on 16-inch wheels, this is the correct kit to order. For the same engines on 17-inch wheels, the 323mm Sport at £1,748.98 gives a bigger disc for £330 less. The decision rests on what wheels the car runs.

  • £2,078.89 inc VAT
  • Clears 16-inch wheels
  • 305 x 26mm disc, B32 six-piston caliper
  • Two engine-specific listings: 2.0 GT and 2.8 VR6 (same price on both)
  • Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses included

323mm Sport: 17-inch, cheaper than the 300mm, 305mm and 318mm

The 323mm Sport is the pricing anomaly in this range. At £1,748.98 inc VAT, it undercuts the 300mm entry kit by £241, the 318mm by £301, and the 305mm VR6 kit by £330. The disc is bigger than all three. The B32 six-piston caliper is the same throughout. The price does not follow the disc size, and on this car that is worth knowing before you decide.

Two engine-specific listings cover the 2.0 GT and 2.8 VR6. Garreth’s take: if the car is on 17-inch wheels and you want everything in one box, start here. Bigger swept area than the 300mm or 305mm, pads and hoses already fitted, and it costs less. The one condition is the 17-inch minimum wheel size.

  • £1,748.98 inc VAT (the lowest price in this guide)
  • Requires 17-inch wheels
  • 323 x 28mm disc, B32 six-piston caliper
  • Two engine-specific listings: 2.0 GT and 2.8 VR6
  • Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses included
  • Lists below the 300mm, 305mm and 318mm kits despite a bigger disc

318mm Sport: 17-inch, two kits and a disc thickness split

The 318mm Sport comes in two separate kits at the same price. One (KMVW0127-VEN) carries no engine label in the title: it reads simply “Volkswagen Vento”, 318x24mm disc. The other (KMVW0131-VEN) is specific to the 2.8 VR6, 318x22mm disc. Both are £2,050.00 inc VAT, both need 17-inch wheels, both use the B32 six-piston caliper.

The 2mm difference in disc thickness is bracket geometry. Different mounting positions change the offset at which the caliper sits, which determines both how much clearance is available and what disc thickness fits. It is not a specification error: both are correct for their application. Order the VR6 listing if your car is the VR6. Order the generic listing if it is not. If you are unsure, ring us before ordering and Cameron will confirm.

  • £2,050.00 inc VAT (both listings)
  • Requires 17-inch wheels
  • Generic listing: 318 x 24mm disc; VR6 listing: 318 x 22mm disc
  • B32 six-piston caliper on both; same price, different disc thickness
  • Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses included

330mm Sport: the top of the range

The 330mm Sport is the largest disc available for the Vento and the most expensive at £2,280.00 inc VAT. Two engine-specific listings cover the 1.6i GT and the 1.8 GT. There is no 330mm listing for the 2.0 GT or the VR6 in this catalogue. The disc is 330x26mm, the B32 six-piston caliper, and like every kit in this range it arrives with pads fitted and hoses in the box.

For a Vento built for circuit use on 17-inch wheels, this is the kit Garreth would point at. The six-piston caliper is the same B32 throughout the range, so the step from 323mm to 330mm is 7mm more swept area on the same caliper, not a different caliper. If the car is a 2.0 GT or a VR6, ring us on 0115 9893488 and Cameron will confirm whether the 330mm covers those engines or whether the 323mm is the top pick for that variant.

  • £2,280.00 inc VAT
  • Requires 17-inch wheels
  • 330 x 26mm disc, B32 six-piston caliper
  • Two engine-specific listings: 1.6i GT and 1.8 GT (no 2.0 GT or VR6 listing at 330mm)
  • Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses included

What is actually in each box

Every kit in this range delivers the same fundamentals. Corsa performance pads arrive already installed in the calipers. Vehicle-specific braided hoses are in the box. Machined alloy mounting brackets and all fitting hardware are included. You choose the disc style (F2000, Sport Japan, C83 or D95) and the caliper colour (black, red, blue, green or gold anodised) when you order. There is nothing left to add unless you want a different pad compound, which we can quote alongside.

Common questions

Is there a HiSpec option for the Vento?

No. HiSpec do not currently list a kit for the Volkswagen Vento. The eleven kits on this page are all from Tarox. If a HiSpec listing appears in the catalogue in future we will add a section to this guide.

Why is the 323mm Sport cheaper than the 300mm and 305mm kits?

The pricing on the Vento range does not track the disc size. The 323mm Sport lists at £1,748.98 inc VAT, below the 300mm (£1,989.79), 305mm (£2,078.89) and 318mm (£2,050.00) kits. Tarox set prices by bracket tooling cost and disc specification for each application, and those factors move independently of diameter. Both prices are correct on the site. The practical upshot: if the car is on 17-inch wheels, the 323mm is the most cost-effective starting point in the range.

Why are there two different 318mm kits?

The two 318mm Sport kits carry different bracket geometry. One is listed for the 2.8 VR6 specifically (318x22mm disc) and one is a generic Vento listing without an engine tag (318x24mm disc). The 2mm difference in disc thickness is the result of a different caliper offset on the VR6 bracket, not a mistake. Both cost £2,050.00 inc VAT and both need 17-inch wheels. Order the VR6 listing if your car is the VR6; order the generic listing otherwise. Ring us if you are not sure which applies to your engine.

My Vento is a VR6. Which sizes are available for it?

Tarox list VR6-specific kits at three sizes: 305mm, 318mm and 323mm. The 300mm and 330mm have no VR6-specific listing in the current catalogue. If you own a VR6 and want the 330mm, contact us before ordering and we will confirm with Tarox whether the 1.8 GT bracket application covers the VR6 hub geometry, or whether a different kit is needed.

The range tops at 330mm. Is there anything for an 18-inch wheel?

No. The largest disc in the Vento catalogue is 330mm, which needs a 17-inch minimum wheel. Tarox do not currently list a Vento kit that needs 18 inches. If you are running 18-inch wheels, any of the 17-inch kits will fit; speak to Cameron about spoke clearance on your specific wheel before ordering.

What we would actually fit

On a Vento on 16-inch wheels, the 300mm Sport is where Garreth would start. Three engine-specific listings cover the 1.6i GT, 1.8 GT and 2.0i, pads and hoses arrive in the box, and at £1,989.79 inc VAT it is a proper B32 six-piston upgrade for a car that sees road use and the occasional track day.

On 17-inch wheels, the 323mm Sport is the obvious call. It is the cheapest kit in the range at £1,748.98 inc VAT and delivers more disc than the 300mm or 305mm kits for less money. That pricing anomaly is real and it is in your favour. The 330mm at £2,280.00 is worth the step up on a car that is built for circuit use and runs hard; the caliper stays the same B32, so all of the extra cost is disc.

If you are not sure which wheel size clears or which engine listing covers your car, ring us on 0115 9893488. Cameron handles wheel clearance and fitment on the Tarox range, so have your wheel spec and engine variant ready and he will give you a straight answer.
