Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Toyota Supra
There is no generation split in either catalogue. Tarox list one kit for the Toyota Supra and HiSpec Motorsport list five, and neither of them distinguishes between an A70 built in 1988 and an A80 from 1998. That means the conversation here is about disc size and what comes in the box, not which year the car is.
One thing is worth knowing before you look at the prices. The Tarox 320mm disc sits 5mm below HiSpec’s entry-level Billet 4 at 325mm, but the Tarox kit arrives complete with pads and braided hoses already installed. The headline prices are not a like-for-like comparison, and by the time you specify compound and braided lines for a HiSpec kit the gap narrows considerably. Both manufacturers are on the site: Tarox in northern Italy and HiSpec Motorsport in Dartford, and the full Supra range is there if you want to browse it first.
- Six kits in stock, from £1,470 to £2,000.89, all front axle conversions
- HiSpec start at 325mm, so 17 inch wheels are the minimum entry point for this car
- Tarox include pads and braided hoses; HiSpec price both separately so you choose the compound
- Wheel sizes run from 17 inch at the 325mm entry kits to 18 inch at the 360mm Monster range

Two brands, two approaches to the same car
Both companies machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and both build every kit to the specific car. The split between them on the Supra comes down to completeness: Tarox arrive with everything in the box, HiSpec give you the hardware and let you pick the consumables.
Tarox
Made at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy, hand assembled and individually tested. Discs are heat treated, CNC faced and hand balanced to 0.05mm. The Supra kit uses a B32 six-piston caliper. Braided hoses and Corsa pads arrive already installed, and Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP.
HiSpec Motorsport
Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, calipers and pistons both. Every kit is made to order in up to 28 working days. Pads and braided hoses are priced separately so you choose the compound to match how the car is used. Calipers come in black, red, blue, gold or silver.
The number that decides it: your wheel size
HiSpec publish the minimum wheel size for every kit, and every Supra kit starts at 17 inch. There is no 15 or 16 inch option for this car. If the Supra is on standard wheels, the wheel question is whether they are 17 inch or larger. Tarox do not publish a minimum wheel size for this kit and Garreth’s position is the same as it is on every Tarox kit: tell us the make, model and offset of the wheel and we check clearance before anything goes to build.
| Kit | Disc | Smallest wheel |
|---|---|---|
| HiSpec 325mm Billet 4 | 325mm | 17 inch |

| HiSpec 325mm Monster 4 | 325mm | 17 inch |
| HiSpec 325mm Monster 6 | 325mm | 17 inch |
| HiSpec 360mm Monster 4 | 360mm | 18 inch |
| HiSpec 360mm Monster 6 | 360mm | 18 inch |
HiSpec 325mm Billet 4: the entry point on 17s
Every HiSpec option for the Supra starts at 17 inch, and this is the entry point. The Billet 4 is a four-piston caliper with external boots to keep road grime out of the seals, and at 325mm it puts a two-piece floating disc behind the wheel that is a significant step over standard hardware. The caliper has been in production for years because it works on road cars: good feel, consistent bite, no drama. Pads and braided hoses are priced separately, so budget for both on top of the kit price. Made to order in Dartford in five caliper colours.
- £1,470.00 inc VAT
- Needs 17 inch wheels
- 325mm two-piece floating disc
- Four-piston Billet 4 caliper, external boots
- Pads and braided hoses priced separately
- Made to order in up to 28 working days
Tarox 320mm Sport: the complete kit
The Tarox kit is the one where everything arrives in the box. The B32 carries six pistons, the 320 x 26mm disc is a two-piece floater heat treated and balanced to 0.05mm, and Corsa pads are already installed in the calipers with braided hoses connected. On the day you fit it there is nothing else to buy. The 320mm disc is technically 5mm below the HiSpec 325mm entry, but the Tarox price covers the complete build and the HiSpec price does not. By the time you add compound and hoses to the Billet 4 kit, the two are within a few hundred pounds of each other. The caliper colour and disc face are selected at order. Tarox do not publish a minimum wheel size for this application so call us with the wheel spec before ordering.
- £2,000.89 inc VAT, complete
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
- Six-piston B32 caliper, hand assembled in Italy
- 320 x 26mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Caliper in black, red, blue, green or gold
- Call us for wheel clearance before ordering
HiSpec 325mm Monster 4 and Monster 6: more clamp on the same disc
Same 325mm disc as the Billet 4 entry kit, but a bigger caliper behind it. The Monster runs a pad one third longer than the Billet 4 for more surface grip, with larger pistons, high temperature seals and stainless steel wear plates for cars that do track evenings. Both kits still need 17 inch wheels. The Monster 4 is the right choice for most Supras; the Monster 6 adds up to 63 percent more piston area over the four-pot and is there for cars running power modifications or driven hard at circuit days. Pads and braided hoses are still priced separately on both.
- Monster 4 at £1,596.00, Monster 6 at £1,683.00, both inc VAT
- Both clear 17 inch wheels
- 325mm two-piece floating disc
- High-temperature seals and stainless steel wear plates
- Pads and braided hoses priced separately
- Made to order in up to 28 working days
HiSpec 360mm Monster 4 and Monster 6: the 18 inch step
The 360mm kits add 35mm of disc over the 325mm Monster range and need an 18 inch wheel to clear. Same Monster caliper family, same construction, but the larger disc gives more leverage and runs cooler on long straights. On a Supra being used seriously on circuit this is where Garreth tends to point people, because the car is heavy enough and quick enough that the larger disc earns its place. The Monster 6 at 360mm is for a car with engine work that is genuinely pressing the limits of what the brakes can sustain. Both kits price pads and hoses separately.
- Monster 4 at £1,780.50, Monster 6 at £1,863.00, both inc VAT
- Both need 18 inch wheels
- 360mm two-piece floating disc
- High-temperature seals and stainless steel wear plates
- Pads and braided hoses priced separately
- Made to order in up to 28 working days
What is actually in each box
The headline prices look further apart than the finished builds are. HiSpec price their kits without pads or braided hoses so you choose the compound to match the use. Tarox include both, with the pads already installed. Spec both builds level and the gap narrows, so compare the finished build cost rather than the headline number.

Common questions
Why is there no option that clears a 15 or 16 inch wheel?
Every kit in the HiSpec Supra range starts at 325mm, which needs 17 inch wheels, and Tarox list one kit at 320mm with no published minimum. There is simply no kit from either brand that we can confirm fits behind a 15 or 16 inch wheel on this car. If the Supra is on standard smaller wheels, ring us on 0115 9893488 and Cameron will look at what options exist and confirm clearance before anything is ordered.
Does the Tarox 320mm really fit behind a standard Supra wheel?
Tarox design their kits to clear OEM wheels where possible, but they do not publish a confirmed minimum size for this application. We check your exact wheel before the kit goes to build. Ring Cameron with the wheel make, model, size and offset and we will confirm with Tarox before you commit to anything.
Why is the Tarox kit priced above the HiSpec 325mm Monster 6?
The Tarox 320mm Sport includes Corsa pads and braided hoses already fitted. The HiSpec Monster 6 at £1,683 inc VAT does not include either. Add a set of pads and a pair of hoses to the HiSpec kit and the two are much closer. The Tarox price covers the complete build; the HiSpec price covers the hardware. Compare finished builds, not headline numbers.
Do these kits work with ABS and ESP?
Tarox state full compatibility with ABS, ESP and modern driver aids on every Supra kit. For a HiSpec build, tell us the exact car and spec when you order and we will confirm the details with HiSpec before it is built to your car.
How long before the kits arrive?
HiSpec kits are made to order in Dartford; allow up to 28 working days. Tarox kits are built at the factory in Italy and lead times vary through the year, so ask at the time of ordering and we will give you the current picture.
What we would actually fit
For a well-used A70 or A80 on 17 inch wheels, Garreth’s pick is the 325mm Monster 4. The disc is bigger than the entry Billet 4 but the wheel size does not change, and the Monster caliper is a better match for a car that weighs over 1,400 kg and gets driven properly. The Billet 4 at 325mm is the sensible starting point for a car that is mainly on road.
For a car where you want one complete box with nothing left to add on the day of fitting, the Tarox 320mm Sport is the answer. The disc is 5mm smaller but the pads and hoses are in the box, everything is balanced and tested at the factory, and there are no follow-up orders. For a Supra on 18 inch wheels and doing regular track work, the 360mm Monster 4 is where to look. The Monster 6 at 360mm is for the car that has been modified and is genuinely pushing the brakes.
If you are deciding between any two of these, ring us on 0115 9893488. Tell Cameron the wheel spec and what the car does at weekends and you will get a straight answer, usually in about five minutes.
What is the best big brake kit for a Toyota Supra?
For a well-used A70 or A80 on 17 inch wheels, Garreth’s pick is the HiSpec 325mm Monster 4. If the car’s on 18 inch wheels and gets taken on track, look at the 360mm Monster 4 instead. The Tarox 320mm Sport is worth considering too if you’d rather have pads and hoses already installed.
Wheel spoke depth matters as much as size here, a 17 inch wheel that looks fine on paper can still foul the caliper, so check before you order.
