Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Skoda Fabia MK1
The Skoda Fabia MK1 has become a trackday regular partly by accident. When they were new the VRS badge on a diesel supermini made some people laugh. Twenty years on they are cheap, light, and quick in the 1600cc classes if you know what you are doing. Even the standard 1.9TD and 2.0 petrol versions show up at track evenings more than you would expect, usually with engine work done and brakes that have not kept pace.
This page covers the three Tarox big brake kits listed for the Fabia MK1. HiSpec do not make a kit for this car, so the range is Tarox only. Two things worth knowing before you scroll: every kit on this page needs at least 17 inch wheels, so standard 14 or 15 inch alloys have to come off before any of these kits will fit. And the pricing does not follow disc size. The 323mm kit lists below the smaller 318mm by over three hundred pounds. The full Fabia MK1 brake range is on the site if you want the raw listing.
- Every kit is a complete front conversion: six-piston B32 caliper, two-piece floating disc, brackets, braided hoses and Corsa pads pre-fitted in the calipers
- Nothing in the catalogue clears standard 14 or 15 inch alloys: the entry kit needs 17 inch wheels, same as the two above it
- Tarox list separately for the 1.9TD, 1.9TD VRS and 2.0 petrol: different brackets at each size, same caliper and disc spec, same price
- The 323mm kit is cheaper than the 318mm despite being a larger disc: worth knowing before comparing sizes

The Tarox range for the Fabia MK1
Tarox is the only brand covering the Fabia MK1 catalogue. HiSpec do not list a kit for this car. There are three disc sizes available, all using the B32 six-piston caliper, all arriving as a complete package: calipers, two-piece floating disc, vehicle-specific brackets, braided hoses and Corsa pads pre-fitted. You choose the caliper finish from black, red, blue, green or gold when you order.
All kits are manufactured at the Tarox factory in northern Italy: CNC machined from European billet alloy, hand assembled, discs heat treated and hand balanced to 0.05mm. Tarox state full ABS and ESP compatibility on every kit. There is more on Tarox’s own site if you want the full technical detail.
Complete package, every kit
Unlike some other brands in our catalogue, every Tarox kit for the Fabia MK1 arrives with braided hoses and Corsa pads already included and pre-fitted. There is nothing else to order before you can bolt it on.
B32 caliper throughout
All three disc sizes use the same B32 six-piston billet caliper. The choice between 318mm, 323mm and 330mm is about disc area and price, not a change in caliper family. One unusual data point: the 323mm lists below the 318mm on price despite being larger.
The wheel question
Nothing in the Fabia MK1 catalogue keeps factory wheels. Standard MK1 alloys run 14 inch on base trim, 15 inch on Sport and VRS spec. The smallest kit on this page needs 17 inch to clear the caliper, so every Fabia MK1 owner looking at this page is also looking at wheels, whether they planned for it or not.
The disc diameter sets the minimum wheel size. Depth is the only car-specific part of the question: how far the spoke profile extends inward behind the face, and that is what Cameron checks. A wheel of the right diameter can still foul a caliper if the spoke profile is shallow. Give Cameron the make and model of your wheels, not just the size, before you order. Tarox also publish a clearance template if you want to check ahead of time.
| Kit | Disc | Smallest wheel |
|---|---|---|
| Tarox 323mm Sport | 323 x 28mm | 17 inch |
| Tarox 318mm Sport | 318 x 26mm | 17 inch |
| Tarox 330mm Sport | 330 x 26mm | Ask us (not published) |
Tarox 323mm Sport: the entry pick
The 323mm is where Garreth’s recommendation starts on the Fabia MK1, and the pricing makes the case plainly. At £1,748.98 inc VAT it is the cheapest kit in the range and a larger disc than the 318mm below. Both use the same B32 six-piston caliper, both need 17 inch wheels, both arrive complete with pads and hoses in the box. The 323mm is the one to start with unless your car has a reason to want the 318 specifically.
Three listings at this disc size: 1.9TD (id 4464), 2.0 petrol (id 4465) and 1.9TD VRS (id 4466). The brackets differ between engine variants, so the fitment matches your car’s specific hub geometry. Order the listing for your engine. If you are not sure which applies, ring Cameron with the registration and he will confirm before anything goes to Tarox.
- £1,748.98 inc VAT, complete
- B32 six-piston caliper, billet alloy, hand assembled in Italy
- 323 x 28mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Corsa pads pre-fitted, braided hoses included
- Separate listings for 1.9TD, 2.0 and VRS; order the one for your engine
Tarox 318mm Sport: the smaller disc at the higher price
At £2,050 inc VAT, the 318mm Sport costs £301.02 more than the 323mm above, despite being 5mm smaller in disc diameter. Both kits run the same B32 caliper and the same 17 inch minimum wheel, so the size difference does not explain the price gap. We flag it every time a Fabia enquiry comes in. If you have a specific reason to want the 318mm, that is a conversation with Garreth. Coming to this page cold with a standard 17-inch car, the 323mm is the better starting call.
The same three-engine split applies here: 1.9TD (id 4459), 2.0 (id 4458) and 1.9TD VRS (id 4460). Tarox’s own data confirms 17 inch minimum for the 1.9TD listing (KMVW0364), which covers all three engine variants at this disc size. As with every kit in the range, speak to Cameron about spoke clearance if you are on aftermarket wheels.
- £2,050.00 inc VAT, complete (£301.02 more than the 323mm)
- B32 six-piston caliper, same spec as the 323mm above
- 318 x 26mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Corsa pads pre-fitted, braided hoses included
- 17 inch confirmed; three variant listings, order the one for your engine
Tarox 330mm Sport: the largest disc in the range
The 330mm is the top of the Fabia MK1 catalogue and the biggest disc Tarox list for this car. At £2,280 inc VAT it prices predictably above the entry kit, and for once in the right direction. The B32 six-piston caliper runs through the whole range so the caliper family stays consistent from the 323mm entry up to here. More disc area, same caliper, and a sensible price step from the pick above.
The minimum wheel size for the 330mm is not currently published by Tarox for the Fabia-specific kit code (KMVW0452 does not resolve on Tarox’s site). Neighbours in the Sport range confirm 17in, but we check with Tarox before anything is built. Three engine variants again at the same price: 1.9TD (id 4471), VRS (id 4472) and 2.0 (id 4473). The VRS owners asking about this kit are usually the ones who have done the most to the engine already, and this is the natural brake companion for a heavily tuned VRS.
- £2,280.00 inc VAT, complete
- B32 six-piston caliper, billet alloy, hand assembled in Italy
- 330 x 26mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Corsa pads pre-fitted, braided hoses included
- Minimum wheel size unconfirmed for this Tarox code; we confirm before build
What is in each box
Every Tarox kit for the Fabia MK1 arrives as a complete package. That is different from how HiSpec kits work on other cars in this series, where pads and braided hoses are priced separately so you choose the compound. On the Fabia MK1, the caliper, two-piece disc, brackets, braided hoses and Corsa pads all come together. The pads arrive already fitted in the calipers, so nothing is missing when the box opens.
Corsa pads are the standard road and occasional track compound. If the car does regular circuit work, tell us when you order and we can spec an appropriate compound before the kit goes to Tarox.

Prices include VAT and were correct on 10 September 2026. Note: the 323mm Sport lists below the 318mm despite the larger disc. This pricing anomaly is flagged in our data report. Wheel size for the 330mm is not published by Tarox for this specific kit and is confirmed before build.
Common questions
Why does the 323mm cost less than the 318mm?
It reads oddly and we checked it twice. The 323mm Sport lists at £1,748.98 inc VAT and the 318mm lists at £2,050.00, despite the 323mm being the bigger disc. Both run the same B32 six-piston caliper and both need 17 inch wheels. The difference sits in Tarox's part codes, not in any spec we can see in the listings. We have flagged it. On a Fabia MK1 starting from scratch, the 323mm is the obvious pick by price.
Which listing do I need for my Fabia?
Order the one that matches your engine. There are separate listings for the 1.9TD, the 1.9TD VRS and the 2.0 petrol at each disc size, because the brackets are specific to each engine variant's hub geometry. Order the wrong one and it will not fit correctly. If you are not sure, give Cameron your registration and he will confirm the right listing before it goes to build.
Do I need to change my wheels?
Yes, if the car is on standard alloys. Every kit on this page needs at least 17 inch wheels. Standard MK1 alloys are 14 or 15 inch, which clears neither the disc nor the caliper on any option here. If wheels are part of the build too, mention it when you ring and we will talk through what makes sense for the car.
How long does it take to arrive?
Tarox kits are built specifically for the car at the factory in Italy. Lead times vary through the year, so ask when you order and we will give you the current picture at that point.
Will these work with my ABS and ESP?
Tarox state full compatibility with ABS, ESP and modern driver aids on every kit for the Fabia MK1. Tell us your exact car spec when you order and we will confirm the details with Tarox before anything is built.
What we would actually fit
On a Fabia MK1 coming to this page for the first time, the 323mm Sport. It is the cheapest kit in the range, a bigger disc than the 318mm and a complete package with nothing else to buy. For most of the standard and lightly modified Fabias we see, it is the right call. The only reason to look at the 318mm first is if there is a specific fitment requirement we have not come across yet, and that is a conversation to have with Garreth before you order.
For a VRS doing regular circuit sessions or pushing towards modified class racing, the 330mm is worth considering. More disc area, same caliper family. The minimum wheel size is the question we would want to confirm first, which is a quick check before anything goes to build.
Whatever size you land on, ring us on 0115 9893488 with your wheel spec. Standard Fabia alloys do not clear any kit on this page, so if wheels are still on the list, Cameron will talk you through what is involved. Have the make and model of your wheels handy if you have already changed them, and he will check spoke clearance before we order anything.
