Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Peugeot 207
HiSpec Motorsport lists two kits for the Peugeot 207. Tarox lists five. That is not a gap anyone needs to worry about, it is just where the HiSpec range starts and stops on this car, and from 16 inch wheels upwards you are working through Tarox options. Which is fine, because Tarox are well covered here, with kits running from the 284mm Sport Compact up to the 340mm Super Sport flagging what this platform can take.
One thing worth knowing before you scroll: the Tarox price ladder does not run smallest to cheapest. The 284mm Sport Compact costs more than the 305mm Sport, and the reason is that they are different products. Different caliper design, different disc construction. There is a section below that explains the 284mm specifically, so you can make the right call without guessing. Everything here comes from Tarox in northern Italy and HiSpec Motorsport in Dartford. The full 207 range is on the site if you want to browse it raw.
- Five Tarox kits and two HiSpec kits in stock for the 207, all covered below
- Every kit on this page clears a 17 inch alloy at most, including the 340mm Super Sport
- HiSpec include EBC Standard Road pads in both kits for the 207; braided hoses are an optional extra on both
- Tarox kits arrive complete with braided hoses and Corsa pads already fitted

Two brands, two ways of building a brake kit
Both machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and build every kit for the specific car it is going on. The main difference is what goes in the box.
Tarox
Built at the factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy and hand assembled, discs are heat treated and hand balanced to 0.05mm. Every Tarox kit for the 207 arrives complete with vehicle specific braided hoses and Corsa pads already fitted. Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP. Five kits in stock, from the 284mm Sport Compact up to the 340mm Super Sport.
HiSpec Motorsport
Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, calipers and pistons both. Two Billet 4 kits for the 207 at 285mm and 300mm, covering 15 and 16 inch wheels. Made to order in up to 28 working days, calipers in black, red, blue, gold or silver. Both kits include EBC Standard Road pads and brake fluid; braided hoses are an optional extra priced separately.
Wheel sizes: real numbers for every kit
Minimum wheel diameter is a property of the kit, not of the car. The Tarox figures below were looked up from Tarox’s own product pages for these exact part numbers. HiSpec figures come from their published statements across the catalogue. The only check that stays a conversation is depth, because a wheel of the right diameter can still foul a caliper at the spokes depending on the spoke profile.
| Kit | Disc | Minimum wheel |
|---|---|---|
| HiSpec 285mm Billet 4 | 285mm | 15 inch |
| Tarox 284mm Sport Compact | 284mm | 15 inch |
| HiSpec 300mm Billet 4 | 300mm | 16 inch |
| Tarox 305mm 6 pot | 305mm | 16 inch |
| Tarox 318mm 6 pot | 318mm | 17 inch |
| Tarox 330mm 6 pot | 330mm | 17 inch |
| Tarox 340mm Super Sport | 340mm | 17 inch |
HiSpec 285mm Billet 4: the entry kit for 15 inch wheels
The cheapest kit on this page at £1,254.00 inc VAT, and the right starting point for any 207 that is still on 15 inch wheels. The Billet 4 is a four piston caliper machined from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, with external boots to keep road grime out of the seals. It pairs with a 285mm disc, which is enough of a step up from the standard sliding caliper to be felt immediately on the road.
Both HiSpec kits for the 207 include EBC Standard Road pads and brake fluid as standard. Braided hoses are a separate option, which keeps the headline price down and lets you add them when the budget allows.
- £1,254.00 inc VAT
- Fits behind 15 inch wheels
- 285mm disc, four piston Billet 4 caliper
- EBC Standard Road pads and brake fluid included
- Braided hoses priced separately as an optional extra
HiSpec 300mm Billet 4: the step to 16 inch
The second HiSpec kit for the 207 adds 15mm of disc diameter and moves the minimum wheel size from 15 to 16 inch, at £1,464.00 inc VAT. Same four piston Billet 4 caliper, same made-to-order construction in Dartford, same colour choice. The 300mm uses a two-piece disc where the 285mm is a single piece, which gives a small reduction in unsprung weight.
If the car is already on 16 inch alloys, this is the HiSpec to go to. Both kits come with EBC Standard Road pads included, so the only thing to add is braided hoses if you want them.
- £1,464.00 inc VAT
- Fits behind 16 inch wheels
- 300mm disc, four piston Billet 4 caliper
- EBC Standard Road pads and brake fluid included
- Braided hoses priced separately as an optional extra
Tarox 305mm 6 pot: the complete kit for 16 inch wheels
The entry point into Tarox for the 207, and the one Garreth reaches for when someone wants everything in one box. Six pistons, a two-piece floating disc balanced to 0.05mm at the factory, vehicle specific braided hoses and Corsa pads pre-fitted. Minimum wheel is 16 inch, confirmed from Tarox’s own product page for this kit.
It is also worth flagging: the 305mm Sport is cheaper than the 284mm Sport Compact at £1,860.66 against £1,981.04. If the car will clear a 305mm disc, this is the better buy on every measure. The 284mm section further down explains what it is and when it makes sense.
- £1,860.66 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 16 inch wheels
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
- Six piston B32 caliper, hand assembled in Italy
- 305mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
Tarox 318mm and 330mm: the 17 inch options
Both of these need a 17 inch wheel and both use the same six piston B32 caliper as the 305mm, with a larger two-piece floating disc in front of it. The 318mm is £2,020.00 and the 330mm is £2,280.00. The extra 12mm of disc comes at a real cost, so the question is whether the car earns it.
Garreth’s view: on a 207 used mainly on the road, the 318mm is the better call. On a car doing regular track evenings where the disc temperature is a real factor, the 330mm is the one to have. Both are confirmed at 17 inch per Tarox’s own data for these specific part numbers.
- 318mm at £2,020.00 inc VAT, 330mm at £2,280.00 inc VAT
- Both need 17 inch wheels
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted on both
- Six piston B32 caliper, two-piece floating discs
- Discs balanced to 0.05mm at the factory
Tarox 340mm Super Sport: the flagship
The biggest kit listed for the 207 and a genuine step up from the Sport range. The Super Sport caliper uses sequentially sized pistons so the pad wears evenly across its face and the pedal stays consistent as heat builds through a session. The 340mm two-piece floating disc clears a 17 inch wheel, which makes it accessible to more 207s than you might expect from a kit at this level.
One note on the listing before you order: the title says 10 pot. That was the older caliper design. The current B34GT runs eight sequential pistons and eight is what arrives. It is an honest eight, and the sequential sizing is what gives the Super Sport its pedal feel over a standard parallel-piston caliper.
- £2,610.00 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 17 inch wheels
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
- 8 sequential pistons (title says 10 pot, current B34GT caliper is 8 piston)
- 340mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
The Tarox 284mm Sport Compact: a different product
The 284mm Sport Compact sits at the bottom of the Tarox 207 range by disc size and at the top by price among the five, at £1,981.04. That reversal is not a pricing error. It is a different kit.
The Sport Compact uses a single-piece cast disc and a B280/B30 caliper, which is a narrower design than the B32 six-pot on the 305mm and above. The Sport range uses two-piece floating discs with aluminium bells, which are lighter and handle heat more evenly. The Sport Compact was built to fit a 15 inch wheel where the Sport cannot, but it uses older construction to do it. The practical result: if your wheels will clear a 305mm disc, the 305mm Sport at £1,860.66 is bigger, more capable, and cheaper. The 284mm makes sense only when 305mm genuinely will not fit. Cameron can check clearance for any specific wheel.
What is actually in each box
The box gap between the two brands is narrower on the 207 than in most guides. Both HiSpec kits include EBC Standard Road pads and brake fluid. Tarox kits include Corsa pads and braided hoses. The remaining gap is the hoses: Tarox include vehicle specific braided hoses as standard; HiSpec price them separately. Compare the finished builds when you are working out which is the better value at a given disc size.

Prices include VAT and were correct on 25 August 2026. Tarox minimum wheel sizes were confirmed from Tarox’s own product pages for these exact part numbers. The Tarox 284mm Sport Compact sits above the 305mm in price because it is a different product range, not a pricing error.
Common questions
Why is the Tarox 284mm more expensive than the 305mm?
The 284mm is a Sport Compact rather than a Sport. It uses a single-piece cast disc and a different caliper design from the B32 on the 305mm upwards. It was built to fit a 15 inch wheel where the Sport range cannot, but it uses an older construction to do so. If your wheels clear a 305mm disc, the 305mm at £1,860.66 is bigger, lighter and £120.38 cheaper. The 284mm exists for cars where a 305mm genuinely will not fit, and the price reflects that it is a lower volume fitment.
The Tarox 340mm says 10 pot. Is that right?
No. The title on the listing is out of date. The current Super Sport caliper is the B34GT, which runs eight sequential pistons. Eight is what arrives. We would sooner say that plainly than have you counting pistons when the kit turns up. Sequential sizing is actually a better design for pedal feel because it keeps even pressure across the pad face as heat builds.
Do the HiSpec kits include pads on the 207?
Yes, both do. EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 brake fluid are included in both the 285mm and 300mm kits for the 207. Braided hoses are a separate option. This is worth knowing because in most of the range HiSpec price pads separately, but on the 207 listings they are in the box. The compound is upgradeable if you want something more aggressive for track use.
Does the 340mm Super Sport really fit behind a 17 inch wheel?
Yes, confirmed from Tarox's own product page for this exact kit and part number. On other cars a 340mm Tarox kit sometimes needs 18 inch, but for the 207 Tarox publish 17 inch. Diameter is the published clearance figure; depth at the spokes is what Cameron checks per wheel. Give us the wheel make and model alongside the size and that check takes five minutes.
How long does delivery take?
HiSpec kits are made to order in Dartford, so allow up to 28 working days. Tarox kits are built at the factory in Italy and lead times move through the year, so ask when you place the order and we will give you the current picture. Neither brand keeps finished Peugeot 207 kits on a shelf.
What we would actually fit
On a 207 on 15 inch wheels, the HiSpec 285mm at £1,254.00 is the starting point. Both HiSpec kits come with pads included so the only add-on decision is the hoses. On 16 inch wheels, the Tarox 305mm at £1,860.66 is the pick if you want everything in one box, or the HiSpec 300mm at £1,464.00 if you are going to source pads separately and want the lower entry number.
For a 207 doing regular track work on 17s, the Tarox 318mm at £2,020.00 is the one Garreth would fit. If the car is pushing harder than that, the 330mm adds another 12mm of disc for £260 more, and the 340mm Super Sport is there for cars where nothing less will do. Ring us on 0115 9893488 with your wheel size and what the car does at weekends. Checking that the caliper clears your specific wheel is Cameron’s job, so have the wheel make and model handy.
