Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Honda Accord
The Honda Accord does not arrive on the performance radar the same way a Type R or an Integra does. The CW2 generation was Honda’s 2008 executive saloon, a car that ended up on a lot of company car lists and motorway kilometres. The 2.4 i-VTEC petrol is the one that gets modified: it clears 200bhp comfortably with bolt-ons, at which point the stock brakes are the obvious next item on the list. We see a steady stream of them, usually after the engine and suspension have already been seen to.
This guide runs through the kits we would recommend for the Accord, from the two manufacturers we use for big brakes: Tarox in northern Italy and HiSpec Motorsport in Dartford. Tarox build a single kit for this car, listed specifically for the CW2 chassis. If your Accord is a 6th or 7th generation, HiSpec cover all variants without a generation split, but the Tarox kit is CW2 only. The full Accord range is on the site if you want to browse it first.
- Every kit here is a complete front axle conversion, bolting to standard Accord hubs
- HiSpec include EBC pads in every kit: Standard Road in the Billet 4 kits, Redstuff in the Monster range
- Monster 4 and Monster 6 include braided hoses as well; the Billet 4 kits price hoses separately
- The Tarox 340mm kit is CW2 specific, needs 18 inch wheels, and arrives with pads fitted and hoses included

Two brands, two ways of building a brake kit
Both companies machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and both build every kit for the specific car it is going on. The split between them on the Accord comes down to which generation the car is, and to completeness.
Tarox
Made at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy, hand assembled and individually tested. Every disc is heat treated and hand balanced to 0.05mm. The Accord kit uses the B34GT caliper with eight sequential pistons. Stainless steel braided hoses and Corsa pads come pre-fitted, and Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP. One kit, one chassis: CW2 only.
HiSpec Motorsport
Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, calipers and pistons both. Every kit is made to order in up to 28 working days. On this car HiSpec include EBC pads in every kit, with the compound varying by caliper family. Hoses are included with the Monster range and priced separately on the Billet 4. Caliper colour options are black, red, blue, gold or silver.
Wheel size and the 325mm question
The entry kit here starts at 16 inch. Larger than most series entry points, reflecting the size and weight of the Accord. At 325mm the catalogue offers three HiSpec kits: same disc, same wheel requirement, different caliper and different box contents. The Tarox at 340mm is the only kit on this page that steps up to 18 inch wheels.
| Kit | Disc | Smallest wheel |
|---|---|---|
| HiSpec 310mm Billet 4 | 310 x 28mm | 16 inch |
| HiSpec 325mm Billet 4 | 325 x 28mm | 17 inch |
| HiSpec 325mm Monster 4 | 325 x 28mm | 17 inch |
| HiSpec 325mm Monster 6 | 325 x 28mm | 17 inch |
| Tarox 340mm Super Sport | 340 x 26mm | 18 inch |
HiSpec 310mm Billet 4: keeping your 16 inch wheels
The entry kit, and the right place to start if the car still runs 16 inch wheels. The Billet 4 is HiSpec’s established four piston caliper, with external boots on the seals that hold up well on cars that do real mileage. Paired with a 310mm two piece floating disc it is a genuine step forward on the standard Accord setup without needing to change wheels. EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 fluid come with the kit; braided hoses are priced separately. For most road cars that is a straightforward add-on.
- £1,130.00 inc VAT
- Clears 16 inch wheels
- 310 x 28mm two piece floating discs
- EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 fluid included
- Braided hoses priced separately, five caliper colours available
HiSpec 325mm Billet 4: the step to 17 inch
Moving to 325mm means 17 inch wheels are the minimum. The same Billet 4 caliper as the 310mm kit, four pistons, same external boot design. The disc is larger: more surface area, more leverage, more heat dissipation on hard stops. The price difference between the two Billet 4 sizes is around £340, and the caliper is the same, so the decision is whether the extra 15mm of disc justifies moving to 17s. EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 fluid come with it; hoses are extra.
- £1,470.00 inc VAT
- Requires 17 inch wheels minimum
- 325 x 28mm two piece floating discs
- EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 fluid included
- Braided hoses priced separately, made to order in up to 28 working days
HiSpec 325mm Monster 4: the complete build at 17 inch
Same 325mm disc, same 17 inch wheel requirement, but a different caliper and a different box. The Monster 4 pad is a third longer than the Billet 4 pad, giving more contact area and more clamping force. What also changes is the box: the Monster 4 arrives with EBC Redstuff pads and braided hoses already included. At £1,596 inc VAT it is £126 above the 325mm Billet 4, but by the time you add a set of hoses to the Billet 4 the gap narrows. The Monster 4 is a finished build; the Billet 4 is the starting point.
- £1,596.00 inc VAT
- Requires 17 inch wheels minimum
- 325 x 28mm two piece floating discs
- EBC Redstuff pads and braided hoses both included
- Monster 4 caliper: larger pad area than the Billet 4
HiSpec 325mm Monster 6: more piston area, same disc
The Monster 6 sits at the top of the HiSpec range for this car. Same 325mm disc, same 17 inch minimum, same EBC Redstuff pads and braided hoses in the box. Where it differs from the Monster 4 is piston count: six pistons against four, which gives up to 63% more piston area clamping the same pad. On a standard road Accord that extra clamp is hard to feel at normal speeds, but for the car that does track days or carries serious power modifications, the Monster 6 is the pick in this group. Garreth’s view: for road use, save the difference and run the Monster 4.
- £1,683.00 inc VAT
- Requires 17 inch wheels minimum
- 325 x 28mm two piece floating discs
- Six pistons, up to 63% more piston area than the Monster 4
- EBC Redstuff pads and braided hoses included
Tarox 340mm Super Sport: the CW2 specific kit
This is the only Tarox kit in the Accord catalogue and it is built specifically for the CW2 chassis. The name says 10 pot, which refers to the older B34 caliper design. What arrives is the current B34GT, eight pistons sized sequentially so the load is spread evenly across the pad as it wears. That even loading keeps the pedal consistent as the brakes get hot, which is the reason the Super Sport suits fast road and track use. The 340mm disc is a two piece floater, balanced to 0.05mm. Corsa pads come pre-fitted by Tarox before it leaves Italy. Braided hoses, CW2 specific brackets, and all hardware are in the box. It needs 18 inch wheels and that minimum is confirmed on tarox.co.uk.
- £2,610.00 inc VAT, complete
- Requires 18 inch wheels (confirmed)
- 340 x 26mm two piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- B34GT caliper, eight sequential pistons for even pad wear
- Corsa pads pre-fitted, CW2 brackets, braided hoses, all hardware included
What is actually in each box
On the Accord the box contents vary more than on most vehicles in this series, and comparing prices without knowing what each kit includes gives a misleading picture. The Billet 4 kits include EBC Standard Road pads and Dot 5.1 fluid, but price braided hoses separately. The Monster kits step up to EBC Redstuff pads and include hoses. Tarox include everything and pre-fit the pads before the kit ships.

Prices include VAT and were correct on 31 August 2026. The price ladder here runs cleanly, smallest to largest, with no backwards steps. The headline gap between the Billet 4 and Monster kits narrows once you add braided hoses to the Billet 4, so compare what each box actually contains before comparing the numbers.
Common questions
Will any of these kits clear my standard Accord wheels?
The 310mm Billet 4 is designed to clear 16 inch wheels, which is the standard factory fitment on many CW2 variants. The 325mm kits need 17 inch as a minimum. Tarox state 18 inch for their 340mm kit on tarox.co.uk. If you are on the original factory wheels, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 with your exact wheel size and he will confirm which kits will fit.
My Accord isn't a CW2. Can I use the Tarox kit?
No. The Tarox kit (Tarox 340mm Super Sport) is listed specifically for the CW2 chassis (2008 to 2012). A different generation Accord uses different geometry at the front hub and the CW2 brackets will not fit. If you have an older or newer Accord, the four HiSpec kits cover all variants without a generation split, and Cameron can check the fitment details with HiSpec before you order.
Why do the Monster kits include braided hoses when the Billet 4 doesn't?
The Monster range is HiSpec's higher-grade caliper, built for harder use, and HiSpec kit the box to match. The Billet 4 is the road-first caliper and HiSpec price hoses separately so you can choose whether to add them. On a car that stays on the road, you will want hoses regardless, so budget for them when comparing the Billet 4 against the Monster kits.
The Tarox listing says 10 pot. How many pistons does it actually have?
Eight. The 10 pot name refers to the older B34 caliper design. The kit that arrives is the B34GT, which uses eight pistons sized sequentially so the load distributes evenly across the pad face as it wears. The product description confirms this, and it is what Tarox actually ship. The title has not been updated to match.
How long does an HiSpec kit take to arrive?
HiSpec build to order in Dartford, and the lead time is up to 28 working days. That is the standard build window across the range. If timing is important, let us know when you order and we will check the current lead time with HiSpec for you. Tarox kits are built in Italy and lead times vary through the season, so ask when you order.
What we would actually fit
On a standard CW2 that still runs 16 inch wheels, the 310mm Billet 4 is the start, and there is not much argument with it. For 17 inch wheels and anything beyond standard power, Garreth’s call goes to the Monster 4 over the Billet 4 at 325mm: the Redstuff pads and hoses are already in the box, the caliper is a step up, and the price difference is smaller than it looks once you spec the Billet 4 properly. The Monster 6 is worth the extra on a car that does serious track use or is making real power; on a road Accord the four pot is fine. The Tarox Super Sport is the right answer if you want 18 inch wheels, a finished complete kit from one manufacturer, and a caliper built for the chassis. At £2,610 it is the biggest spend here, and it is also the only one that arrives with nothing left to do.
If you are unsure which kit suits the car and what it does, ring us on 0115 9893488 with your wheel size and a brief description of the use. Working out whether a specific aftermarket wheel clears the caliper is Cameron’s corner of the business, and it is a straightforward check that takes five minutes.
