Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Ford Fiesta MK5

The Fiesta MK5 ran from 2001 to 2008 and it is still one of the most common cars on club circuit days. The ST150 made 150bhp from the factory; most have been modified since. Standard 1.4 and 1.6 variants typically run 15 or 16 inch wheels, while the ST150 came on 16s from the factory and many have moved to 17s for track use. That wheel size split matters here, because it decides which part of the range applies to your car.

HiSpec Motorsport list four kits for the MK5 and Tarox list two. The Tarox kits are divided by sub-variant: one is built for the standard Fiesta MK5, the other for the ST150. Both use the same 320mm disc and B32 six-piston caliper, and both are priced at £2,000.89 inc VAT. One note on inclusions before you scroll: the HiSpec entry Billet 4 kits at 278mm and 300mm are disc and caliper conversions without pads or hoses. The Monster kits at 335mm are a different product and include EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses in the box. The full Fiesta MK5 range is on the site if you want to browse it raw.

  • Four HiSpec kits and two Tarox kits in stock for the MK5, all covered below
  • Minimum wheel sizes run from 15 inch (278mm HiSpec) to 17 inch (Monster and Tarox)
  • HiSpec Monster kits include EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses
  • HiSpec Billet 4 entry kits (278mm, 300mm) do not include pads or hoses
  • Tarox kits include Corsa pads and vehicle-specific braided hoses, pre-fitted in Italy

Two brands, two ways of building a brake kit

Both machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and build every kit for the specific car it is going on. The difference in what arrives in the box depends on which product line you are looking at.

UK

HiSpec Motorsport

Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, calipers and pistons both. Four kits for the Fiesta MK5, split across two product lines. The Billet 4 is the entry caliper: four pistons, external boots, direct bolt-on. The Monster range steps up to a larger pad area and two-piece disc construction. Monster kits include EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses. Billet 4 kits do not include pads or hoses. Made to order, up to 28 working days, in a choice of five caliper colours.

IT

Tarox

Built at the factory in northern Italy. Two kits for the Fiesta MK5, split by sub-variant: one for the standard MK5 (KMFO1045), one for the ST150 (KMFO0863). Both use a 320mm two-piece floating disc hand balanced to 0.05mm, with a B32 six-piston caliper CNC machined from European billet alloy. Stainless braided hoses and Corsa pads arrive pre-fitted. Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP.

Wheel sizes: real numbers for every kit

Minimum wheel diameter is a property of the kit, not of the car. The HiSpec figures come from the product descriptions, which state the designed clearance for each kit. The Tarox figures were confirmed via Tarox’s own product pages for these exact part numbers. Diameter is the published figure; depth at the spokes is always a second check, because a wheel of the right diameter can still foul the caliper depending on spoke profile.

The disc construction changes at 335mmThe entry HiSpec kits (278mm and 300mm) use a one-piece disc. The Monster kits at 335mm use a two-piece curved vane rotor with an aluminium bell. Two-piece construction saves unsprung weight and handles heat more evenly through a circuit session. The Tarox 320mm also uses a two-piece floating disc. If you are running a car on 15 or 16 inch wheels and not yet planning to go to 17s, the Billet 4 is the practical starting point. The Monster and Tarox options both need 17 inch minimum.

HiSpec 278mm Billet 4: the entry kit for 15 inch wheels

The starting point for any Fiesta MK5 that is still on 15 inch wheels, at £785.44 inc VAT. The Billet 4 is a four-piston caliper machined from 6082 T6 billet aluminium with external boots to keep road grime out of the seals. It pairs with a 278mm one-piece disc, a real step up from the standard sliding caliper and noticeable immediately on the road.

The kit covers the MK3, MK4 and MK5 Fiesta. What arrives: two calipers, two 278mm discs, mounting brackets and hardware. Pads and braided hoses are not included and are priced separately on the product page. Cameron can check clearance for your specific wheel before anything goes to order.

  • £785.44 inc VAT
  • Fits behind 15 inch wheels
  • 278mm one-piece disc, four-piston Billet 4 caliper
  • Pads and braided hoses are not included
  • Choice of black, red, blue, gold or silver caliper finish

HiSpec 300mm Billet 4: the step to 16 inch

The second Billet 4 kit for the MK5 adds 22mm of disc and moves the minimum wheel size from 15 to 16 inch, at £817.24 inc VAT. Same four-piston caliper, same Dartford manufacture, same colour options. The 300mm pairs a one-piece disc with the same bracket design and direct bolt-on fitment as the 278mm.

If the car is already running 16 inch alloys, this is the HiSpec to start with. As with the 278mm, pads and braided hoses are not included. The step to the Monster range at 335mm is where HiSpec include a full pad and hose package, but that also requires 17 inch wheels. If you are on 16s and not planning to go to 17s, the 300mm is the right pick here.

  • £817.24 inc VAT
  • Fits behind 16 inch wheels
  • 300mm one-piece disc, four-piston Billet 4 caliper
  • Pads and braided hoses are not included
  • Choice of five caliper colours, made to order in Dartford

HiSpec Monster 4, 335mm: the full-package step to 17 inch

The Monster 4 is a step up in every direction: bigger caliper, bigger disc, and a complete kit that includes everything for a direct fit. At £1,650.00 inc VAT, the box contains two Monster 4 calipers, two 335mm curved vane two-piece rotors with aluminium bells, mounting brackets and hardware, EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 brake fluid and two braided hoses. Nothing else is needed except time to fit it.

The Monster caliper is CNC machined from aerospace-grade billet aluminium. The pad area is one third larger than on the Billet 4, which gives more surface grip and better heat distribution across the disc. The two-piece rotor construction reduces unsprung weight compared with a solid disc. Minimum wheel size is 17 inch, confirmed from the product description. Garreth runs Monster kits on road cars that see regular track days because the pads and hoses are there from the start, there is nothing to forget to order.

  • £1,650.00 inc VAT, complete kit
  • Fits behind 17 inch wheels
  • 335mm two-piece curved vane rotor with aluminium bell
  • EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses included
  • Four-piston Monster 4 caliper, billet aluminium

HiSpec Monster 6, 335mm: more piston area, same disc

The Monster 6 uses the same 335mm two-piece disc as the Monster 4 and arrives with the same full-package inclusions: EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses. The difference is in the caliper: six pistons against four, which gives up to 63% more piston area clamping the same pad. The pad face and disc size are identical between the two; the Monster 6 just pushes harder on it.

At £1,773.00 inc VAT, the Monster 6 costs £123 more than the Monster 4. That difference buys a more consistent pedal as heat builds through a session, because the larger piston area maintains clamping force more evenly as pad compound temperatures rise. For a Fiesta used mainly on the road, the Monster 4 is the honest pick. For one doing back-to-back sessions at a circuit, the Monster 6 is worth the extra.

  • £1,773.00 inc VAT, complete kit
  • Fits behind 17 inch wheels
  • 335mm two-piece curved vane rotor with aluminium bell
  • EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses included
  • Six-piston Monster 6 caliper, up to 63% more piston area than Monster 4

Tarox 320mm 6 pot: complete kits for standard MK5 and ST150

Tarox list two separate kits for the Fiesta MK5, both at £2,000.89 inc VAT. One is built for the standard MK5 (part KMFO1045), the other for the ST150 specifically (part KMFO0863). The brake architecture is identical: B32 six-piston caliper, 320mm two-piece floating disc balanced to 0.05mm at the factory, vehicle-specific stainless braided hoses and Corsa pads pre-fitted. Both clear a 17 inch wheel, confirmed from Tarox’s own product pages for these part numbers.

Tarox separate the kits because the ST150 uses a different front suspension geometry and hub carrier from the standard MK5. The mounting bracket is machined to suit each sub-variant. Fitting the wrong kit is not a sizing issue, it is a geometry issue, so the correct variant needs to go on the correct car. If you are not sure which sub-variant applies to your car, ring us on 0115 9893488 before ordering.

  • £2,000.89 inc VAT per kit, standard and ST150 listed separately
  • Fits behind 17 inch wheels, both variants
  • 320mm two-piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
  • Corsa pads and braided hoses included and pre-fitted
  • B32 six-piston caliper, hand assembled in Italy
  • Compatible with ABS and ESP

What is actually in each box

The box contents split on this car is worth understanding before you decide between HiSpec and Tarox. The HiSpec Billet 4 kits at 278mm and 300mm do not include pads or hoses. The HiSpec Monster kits at 335mm include EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses. Tarox include Corsa pads and braided hoses on both kits.

Prices include VAT and were correct on 27 August 2026. Tarox minimum wheel sizes were confirmed from Tarox’s own product pages for part numbers KMFO1045 and KMFO0863. The Tarox kits are separate listings for separate sub-variants and must be ordered for the correct car.

Common questions

Why are there two Tarox kits listed for the MK5?

Because the ST150 uses different front suspension geometry and a different hub carrier from the standard 1.4 and 1.6 MK5. The mounting bracket is machined for each sub-variant, so the correct kit needs to go on the correct car. KMFO1045 is for the standard MK5; KMFO0863 is for the ST150. If you are not sure which applies to your car, ring us on 0115 9893488 and we will confirm before you order.

Do the HiSpec Billet 4 kits include pads or hoses?

No. The 278mm and 300mm Billet 4 kits for the MK5 include calipers, discs, brackets and hardware only. Pads and braided hoses are priced separately and can be added from the product page. The Monster kits at 335mm are different: they include EBC Redstuff pads, Dot 5.1 fluid and braided hoses as standard.

Which HiSpec kit should I go for, Monster 4 or Monster 6?

For a road car that occasionally sees a circuit, the Monster 4 at £1,650.00 is the one Garreth would fit. The disc, pad size and hose setup are identical between the two. The Monster 6 adds 63% more piston area, which keeps the pedal more consistent as pad temperatures climb through a long session. If the car is doing back-to-back outings at a circuit, the Monster 6 at £1,773.00 earns its extra £123. For road use with occasional track days, the Monster 4 is honest value.

Can the Tarox 320mm fit behind OEM wheels?

Tarox note in their product description that this kit often fits behind OEM wheels. That is a starting point, not a guarantee, because OEM wheel fitment varies by trim level and wheel generation on the MK5. Cameron can check clearance for your specific wheel. Give him the wheel make, model and size and it is a five-minute check before anything goes to order.

Do Tarox include pads and hoses with the Fiesta kits?

Yes. Both Tarox 320mm kits for the MK5 include Corsa performance brake pads pre-fitted and vehicle-specific stainless braided hoses. Brake fluid is not listed in the Tarox box contents.

How long is the lead time on HiSpec kits?

HiSpec make all their kits to order in Dartford. Allow up to 28 working days. Tarox kits are built in Italy and lead times move through the season, so ask when you place the order and we will give you the current picture.

What we would actually fit

On a standard MK5 on 15 inch wheels, the HiSpec 278mm Billet 4 at £785.44 is the starting point. Budget for pads and braided hoses on top, because they are not in the box. On 16 inch wheels, the 300mm Billet 4 at £817.24 is the right pick, with pads sourced separately to suit how the car is used.

For a MK5 that has moved to 17 inch wheels, the Monster 4 at £1,650.00 is Garreth’s pick for a car splitting time between road and circuit. Everything is in the box, EBC Redstuff pads included, and the two-piece disc handles heat better than the entry one-piece. The Monster 6 at £1,773.00 is worth the extra £123 for a car doing regular back-to-back track sessions. For the ST150 specifically, the Tarox at £2,000.89 is the top of the range: six-piston B32 caliper, two-piece floating disc, pads and hoses all fitted in Italy. Ring us on 0115 9893488 with your wheel size and the car’s sub-variant. Cameron checks clearance before anything goes to order.
