Two brands, two ways of building a brake kit
Both companies machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and build each kit for the specific car. The main practical difference is what arrives in the box.
Tarox
Made at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy and hand assembled, discs are heat treated and hand balanced to 0.05mm. Every Scirocco kit arrives with vehicle-specific braided hoses and Corsa pads already fitted, and Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP. Caliper colours: black, red, blue, green or gold.
HiSpec Motorsport
Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium. Every kit is made to order in up to 28 working days, with calipers available in black, red, blue, gold or silver. Pads and braided hoses are priced separately, so you pick the compound that matches how the car is used.
Wheel sizes across the range
HiSpec publish wheel size data across the catalogue. Tarox figures come from the tarox.com kit pages for each Scirocco application. The 312mm Sport has no live kit page and the minimum wheel is not confirmed: give Cameron the wheel spec and we will run it through Tarox before ordering.

HiSpec 278mm Billet 4: the entry kit

The 300mm Sport is listed as a 1.8 GT fitment. The bracket geometry is specific to that engine variant, so confirm your Scirocco is the 1.8 GT before ordering. The kit clears a 16-inch wheel, one step wider than the HiSpec entry, and uses a six-piston caliper. Disc thickness is 26mm.
At £1,990 inc VAT, this is the lowest-priced Tarox Sport option for the Scirocco and the only one that clears 16-inch wheels. For a 1.8 GT on mid-size alloys that wants the Tarox bundle (pads and hoses already in the box), this is the natural starting point. Tarox 318mm Sport: 1.8 GT, 17-inch step
The 318mm Sport is also a 1.8 GT bracket application. The disc is 318mm but only 24mm thick, 2mm thinner than the 300mm kit. That is bracket geometry, not a specification error: the 318mm bracket holds the caliper at a different position which determines the disc thickness, not just the diameter. Both figures are correct for their application.
This kit needs a 17-inch wheel, one step up from the 300mm. At £2,050 inc VAT it is the pricier of the two 1.8 GT Sport kits, by £60. The 320mm Sport below lists at £2,001 despite being a larger disc, so if the 1.8 GT fitment is not a hard requirement, that comparison is worth making before ordering. The 320mm Sport is not a 1.8 GT-specific application. It also needs 17-inch wheels. The pricing is the one thing to read before you compare: this kit lists at £2,001 inc VAT, £49 less than the 318mm Sport at £2,050. The disc is larger and the price is lower. That is the live pricing on the site and it does not follow the usual size progression. Garreth’s read is the two kits carry different bracket tooling costs, which can move the price in either direction independent of the disc diameter.
For a Scirocco on 17-inch alloys where the engine is not the 1.8 GT, or where the 1.8 GT fitment is not confirmed, this is the pick at the 17-inch level. You get a bigger disc for less money than the 318mm and pads plus hoses arrive in the box.

Tarox 345mm Super Sport: the better-value flagship
The 345mm Super Sport is the top pick for a Scirocco on 17-inch wheels. Two things to know before ordering. First, the caliper: the product title says 10pot. The actual caliper is the B34GT, which runs eight sequential pistons. That is confirmed in the kit description and on the Tarox website. The title has not been corrected yet and we are flagging it. The kit specification is correct; only the title is wrong.
Second, the price. The 345mm Super Sport lists at £2,190 inc VAT. The 330mm Sport lists at £2,280. A larger disc with a better caliper for £90 less than the disc below it. That is the live pricing and it will be corrected in time, but right now this is the better buy at the top of the 17-inch range. Pads and hoses are in the box, already fitted.

Common questions
Does the Tarox 300mm or 318mm fit any Scirocco, or only the 1.8 GT?
Both the 300mm Sport and the 318mm Sport are listed as 1.8 GT bracket applications. The bracket is specific to that engine variant and will not fit a different engine's mounting points. If your Scirocco is not the 1.8 GT, or you are unsure, ring us with the registration and we will confirm the correct application before anything gets ordered.
Why is the 320mm Sport cheaper than the 318mm?
The 320mm Sport lists at £2,001 inc VAT and the 318mm lists at £2,050. The two kits use different bracket tooling for different mounting points and the tooling cost does not track directly with disc diameter. Both prices are correct on the site. If that changes, we update the listing.
The 345mm Super Sport says 10pot in the title. Is that right?
It is not right. The caliper on the Super Sport kits is the B34GT, which runs eight sequential pistons. The title has not been corrected yet and we are aware of it. The kit specification, disc size and caliper designation in the product description are correct. Never take a piston count from a Super Sport title.
Why is the 345mm Super Sport cheaper than the 330mm Sport?

What wheel size do I need for the Tarox 312mm Sport?
The 312mm Sport has no live product page on tarox.com at present and the minimum wheel size is not confirmed. Give Cameron a call with your wheel make, model, size and offset and he will run it through Tarox. Spoke clearance matters as much as diameter at this caliper size, so have the full wheel spec ready.
How long does delivery take?
HiSpec kits are made to order in Dartford and take up to 28 working days. Tarox kits are built in Italy and lead times vary through the year, so ask when you order. Tarox state full ABS and ESP compatibility on all Scirocco kits. For HiSpec, let us know the exact car and spec and we will confirm ABS compatibility before the build goes in.

On 17-inch wheels, the Tarox 345mm Super Sport is the pick. It is a bigger disc than the 330mm with a better caliper at a lower price, and the pads and hoses are included.
