Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Seat Toledo MK2
The Seat Toledo Mk2 runs from 1999 to 2006. The two cars that come through for a brake upgrade are the 2.0 petrol and the 2.3i V5. Three Brembo kits cover those engine codes individually. Two of the three Tarox kits name no engine, which from Tarox typically means the kit covers the full range; the 318mm is listed specifically for the V5.
The thing that stands out on this car: the Brembo is cheaper than the Tarox. The 330mm Brembo Gran Turismo at £1,821.78 sits below every Tarox kit on the page. The entry Tarox 318mm is £2,050, which is £228 more. That is the opposite of how this usually reads, and it has a straightforward explanation covered below. The full Seat Toledo Mk2 brake kit range is on the site if you want to see everything.
- Seven kits in total, £1,821.78 to £2,610.00 inc VAT
- Brembo 330mm at £1,821.78 is the cheapest kit on this page, £228 below the entry Tarox; that is the opposite of the usual price order and explained in the brands section below
- Three Brembo kits by engine code (TDI, FSI, TFSI), one Brembo for the V5, one Tarox for the V5, two Tarox kits for the full range
- All kits minimum 17-inch wheels except the Brembo kits, where clearance is by product page drawing
- Brembo lead time 6-8 weeks, made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy

Why Brembo undercuts Tarox here
The Brembo Gran Turismo uses a pressure-cast aluminium caliper. Cast production at tight tolerances, four pistons per caliper. The GT-A at the base of the GT range has its roots in Brembo’s original-equipment contracts; the design is well established and the kit suits road cars that see occasional track use. It is a different manufacturing approach from billet, not an inferior one. The price reflects the process.
Tarox machines the B32 caliper from billet aluminium bar stock. Six pistons per caliper, CNC-machined body, hand assembled. A more expensive process, a more expensive caliper. On most cars in this series Tarox runs above Brembo in the price ladder, sometimes by a significant margin. On the Toledo Mk2 the gap at entry level is £228. Worth knowing which product that gap is buying before you commit.
Brembo Gran Turismo
Pressure-cast aluminium caliper, four pistons per caliper. Two-piece body design from Brembo's original-equipment engineering. Made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy, 6-8 weeks standard lead time. Kit includes Brembo pads, braided lines, mounting brackets and hardware. Three 330mm kits by engine code (TDI, FSI, TFSI); one 323mm GT-A kit for the V5.
Tarox Sport
B32 billet aluminium caliper, CNC-machined from bar stock. Six pistons per caliper on the 318mm and 330mm kits, eight pistons (B34GT) on the 340mm. Discs are two-piece floating. Corsa pads come fitted from the factory. Braided hoses and hardware in the box. Three kits covering the V5 and the full engine range. Allow 4-6 weeks.
The number that decides it: wheel size
Tarox publish minimum wheel sizes by part number. Both Tarox kits covering the full engine range need 17 inches. The V5-specific 318mm also needs 17 inches. The 340mm kit has no published minimum on the Tarox website; ask and we will get it confirmed before it ships.
For Brembo, minimum wheel size is not a single published figure. Caliper clearance depends on your wheel’s offset and spoke profile as well as the diameter. The product page for each Brembo kit carries a clearance drawing. Standard alloys are almost always fine; aftermarket alloys need checking. If you’re on custom wheels, drop us an email or click to open a chat with the make, model and offset and Cameron will check the drawing before you order.
| Kit | Disc | Min wheel |
|---|---|---|
| Brembo 330mm (all 2.0 engines) | 330x28mm, 1-piece | See product page drawing |
| Brembo 323mm GT-A (V5) | 323x28mm, 1-piece | See product page drawing |
| Tarox 318mm B32 (V5) | 318mm, 2-piece floating | 17 inch |
| Tarox 330mm B32 | 330mm, 2-piece floating | 17 inch |
| Tarox 340mm B34GT | 340mm, 2-piece floating | Not published, ask us |
Brembo 330mm: one spec, three engine codes
One specification across three part numbers. The TDI, FSI and TFSI versions share the same 330x28mm 1-piece disc, the same four-piston Gran Turismo caliper and the same price of £1,821.78. The difference is the bracket machining for each engine’s original mount points. Order the right code for your engine; if you’re not certain which 2.0 variant you have, the door jamb sticker will have it, or ring us.
At this price it is the cheapest kit on the page by a clear margin. Brembo pads and braided lines are already in the price, so there is nothing left to buy except fluid if you do not have it. One gap in the product data: these three kits do not carry a caliper family attribute in the listing. The description calls the system Brembo Gran Turismo with a four-piston caliper. From the spec that is consistent with GT-A, but we have not confirmed it from the part number structure and we will not print what we have not confirmed. The 323mm V5 kit on this page is confirmed GT-A.
Lead time: 6-8 weeks, made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy. Nothing sits on the shelf.
- £1,821.78 inc VAT, Brembo pads and braided lines included, complete kit
- 330x28mm 1-piece disc, four-piston Gran Turismo cast caliper
- Three part numbers: TDI, FSI and TFSI; same spec, engine-specific brackets
- Cheapest kit on this page by £228
- 6-8 weeks lead time, made to order Italy
Brembo 323mm GT-A: the factory kit for the V5
V5 only. The 323mm GT-A is confirmed from the part number description: GT-A, the base Brembo GT caliper, two-piece cast aluminium body, four pistons per side. The disc is 323x28mm, 1-piece.
Price is £1,833.65, about £12 above the 330mm 2.0 kits. That is a bracket engineering cost, not a spec upgrade. The 323mm is the Brembo factory kit for this engine. If you’re in a V5 and you want a Brembo, this is the one to order.
Caliper finish is set by the last character of the part number: 1 for black, 2 for red, 3 for silver. Tell us which when you order. Lead time: 6-8 weeks, made to order Italy.
- £1,833.65 inc VAT, confirmed GT-A four-piston caliper
- 323x28mm 1-piece disc, Brembo pads and braided lines included
- Available in black, red or silver caliper finish
- V5-specific kit, not interchangeable with the 2.0 versions
Tarox 318mm B32 Sport: the entry Tarox for the V5
Tarox’s V5-specific kit. 318mm two-piece floating disc, B32 billet six-piston caliper. Corsa pads come fitted from the factory. Braided hoses and hardware are in the box. Minimum wheel size: 17 inch.
At £2,050 this sits £216 above the Brembo 323mm GT-A for the same engine. The difference is the caliper: billet machined from bar stock rather than cast, six pistons per caliper. For a road car on the occasional track day, the Brembo does the same job for less. For a car going to a circuit on a regular basis, the B32 billet body handles sustained heat more consistently than a cast caliper. That is the genuine trade-off between these two kits on this engine.
- £2,050.00 inc VAT, Corsa pads and braided hoses included
- 318mm 2-piece floating disc, B32 billet 6-piston caliper
- V5-specific kit
- 17-inch wheels minimum
- 4-6 weeks lead time
Tarox 330mm B32 Sport: larger disc, full engine range
The 330mm kit covers the full engine range, not just the V5. Same B32 billet six-piston caliper as the 318mm. 330mm two-piece floating disc. Minimum wheel: 17 inch.
The price step from the 318mm to the 330mm is £230, from £2,050 to £2,280. The caliper specification does not change; you are paying for a larger disc and the bracket engineering for all engine variants. If the car is on 17s and you want more disc than the entry Tarox, this is the natural step up.
- £2,280.00 inc VAT, Corsa pads and braided hoses included
- 330mm 2-piece floating disc, B32 billet 6-piston caliper
- Covers all engine codes (V5 and 2.0 variants)
- 17-inch wheels minimum
- 4-6 weeks lead time
Tarox 340mm: the top of the range and the "10pot" question
The product page calls this kit a “10pot”. The caliper is the B34GT, which has eight pistons, four on each side. Tarox use “10pot” across several of their listings for this caliper range; the actual piston count is eight. Worth knowing before you order, and we have flagged it on the product page.
Minimum wheel size is not published on the Tarox website for this kit. We will confirm it with Tarox before it goes to build. If you’re considering it, drop us an email or click to open a chat with your wheel size and we will get that number first.
At £2,610 this is the top of the range for this car. For a Toledo going to a circuit regularly it is a realistic kit. For anything short of that, the 330mm B32 gives you most of the same capability for £330 less.
- £2,610.00 inc VAT, Corsa pads and braided hoses included
- 340mm 2-piece floating disc, B34GT 8-piston caliper (listed as "10pot", actual count is 8)
- Minimum wheel size not published, ask us before ordering
- 4-6 weeks lead time
What is in each box
Both brands include pads and braided lines as standard on every kit listed here. Brembo includes the mounting brackets; Tarox pads come fitted to the caliper at the factory. Neither kit needs separate pad or hose orders.

Common questions
Can I fit these kits myself?
Both brands include all the hardware and lines in the kit. This is a brake system change, not a pad swap. You will need to bleed the brakes properly and bed the pads before any demanding use. A mechanic with brake experience can handle it; a main dealer may not have seen an aftermarket GT kit before. If you want a fitter recommendation in your area, ring us on 0115 647 8650.
Do I need to upgrade the rear brakes at the same time?
These are all front-axle kits. Upgrading the front alone is a reasonable approach; the front axle does the majority of the work under hard braking. If the car goes to a circuit regularly and you are pushing the brakes hard, a mismatched front and rear bias is worth watching. Ring us if you want to talk through the rear options.
Will the Brembo kit keep ABS and ESP working?
Yes. The Brembo Gran Turismo systems are built around the original brake geometry and ABS ring setup. The product descriptions confirm full ABS compatibility on the Toledo application. Same for Tarox.
Which Brembo 330mm part number do I order?
The TDI, FSI and TFSI versions use the same disc and caliper spec with different brackets for each engine's mount points. If you are not certain which 2.0 variant you have, the door jamb sticker will have the engine code. If you cannot find it, ring us or drop us an email or click to open a chat and we will look it up.
The Tarox 340mm is listed as "10pot". Is that right?
No. The caliper is the B34GT, which is an 8-piston caliper with four pistons on each side. Tarox use "10pot" as a shorthand for this caliper range across a number of their listings. The correct piston count is eight. We have noted this on the product page. Eight pistons is still a very capable caliper for this application; the name is the issue, not the hardware.
What we would actually fit
For the 2.0 engine: start with the Brembo 330mm at £1,821.78 , the cheapest kit on the page. Garreth would put this on a road Toledo without hesitation. If you want billet six-piston calipers and can cover the extra, the Tarox 330mm B32 at £2,280 is the equivalent step up. Same 330mm disc, six-piston billet caliper in place of the four-piston cast.
For the V5: the Brembo 323mm GT-A at £1,833.65 is the factory-confirmed kit for this engine. If you want the Tarox route, the 318mm B32 at £2,050 is the V5-specific kit with the billet six-piston caliper.
The Tarox 340mm is the right kit for a Toledo going to a circuit on a regular basis. For anything short of that the 330mm B32 covers the same ground for £330 less. Before ordering the 340mm, ring us on 0115 647 8650 so we can confirm the wheel clearance figure from Tarox first. None of the kits here are off the shelf: allow 6-8 weeks for Brembo, 4-6 for Tarox.
