Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Seat Ibiza MK2
The Seat Ibiza MK2 has three distinct variants in the Tarox catalogue: the 1.8i 16V, the 2.0 GTI and the Cupra. Each one gets its own dedicated kit because the Cupra front hub differs from the standard models. On most cars in this series the wheel size question comes first. On the Ibiza MK2, the variant question comes first. Order the wrong one and the kit will not fit.
Once you have confirmed the variant, disc size maps to wheel size: 300mm needs 16 inch, 318mm and 330mm both need 17 inch. Every Tarox kit in this catalogue includes pads and braided hoses in the price, so you are comparing finished builds from the start. The full Ibiza MK2 range is on the site if you want to browse before reading.
- Nine kits covering the 1.8i 16V, 2.0 GTI and Cupra: three variants, three disc sizes
- The Cupra kit is separate from the 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI because the Cupra front hub is different; ordering the wrong variant means the kit will not fit
- All nine kits are 6-piston Tarox Sport setups with pads and braided hoses included
- 300mm needs 16 inch wheels; 318mm and 330mm both need 17 inch
- Prices from £1,989.79 to £2,280.00 inc VAT for a complete front setup

Tarox in this catalogue
HiSpec Motorsport do not list kits for the Seat Ibiza MK2, so the full range here is Tarox. Nine kits cover the car across three disc sizes and three engine variants. All nine are Tarox Sport: 6-piston billet aluminium calipers hand assembled at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Every disc is heat treated, CNC faced and balanced to 0.05mm. Tarox state ABS and ESP compatibility on the kits.
Tarox
Six-piston Sport kits built at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. CNC machined billet aluminium calipers, hand assembled and individually tested. Discs heat treated, CNC faced and balanced to 0.05mm. Pads and braided hoses included in every kit. ABS and ESP compatible.
Variants and wheel sizes
The disc size determines the wheel clearance needed, and the variant determines which kit to order. The table below maps the nine kits across both. Tarox publish a minimum wheel size for each kit, confirmed from tarox.co.uk for all KM-coded kits. The 330mm 2.0 GTI (TARQF3HE344) does not carry a KM code, so its wheel size is taken from the two sister kits at the same disc size for the same car, which both confirm 17 inch.
| Kit | Disc | Variant | Smallest wheel | Price inc VAT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tarox 300mm Sport | 300mm | 1.8i 16V | 16 inch | £1,989.79 |
| Tarox 300mm Sport | 300mm | 2.0 GTI | 16 inch | £1,989.79 |

| Tarox 330mm Sport | 330mm | 2.0 GTI | 17 inch | £2,280.00 |
| Tarox 330mm Sport | 330mm | Cupra | 17 inch | £2,280.00 |
Tarox 300mm Sport: standard models at 16 inch
The 300mm Sport kit is the entry disc size for the standard Ibiza MK2 variants. At £1,989.79 inc VAT for both the 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI, it needs 16 inch wheels. Pads and braided hoses are included, so the price shown is a complete front setup. The 6-piston Tarox caliper is a significant step from the factory setup, and the 300mm disc is the sensible starting point if the car is on 16s and the budget is the constraint.
The 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI kits are priced identically and both fit the same standard Ibiza MK2 front hub. The difference is in the bracket machining and disc geometry matched to each variant’s hub. If you have the Cupra, the kit you need is on the next section.
- £1,989.79 inc VAT (both variants at this disc size)
- 300mm disc, 16 inch minimum wheel
- 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper, billet alloy
- Pads and braided hoses included
- Discs balanced to 0.05mm, ABS and ESP compatible
Tarox 300mm Sport: Cupra at 16 inch
The 300mm Cupra kit is at the same price (£1,989.79) and the same 16 inch minimum wheel as the standard-model kits, but it is a different product built to the Cupra’s front hub geometry. The Ibiza Cupra ran a more powerful engine and a modified front suspension setup, which changed the hub. Tarox machine and test the Cupra kit against that specific hub. It will not interchange with the 1.8i 16V or 2.0 GTI kits.
If you are not certain which hub your Ibiza has, Garreth’s advice is to ring Cameron with the car details before ordering. A wrong-variant kit arriving on the doorstep costs a return and adds weeks to the project.
- £1,989.79 inc VAT
- 300mm disc, 16 inch minimum wheel
- Built for the Cupra front hub specifically
- 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper, pads and hoses included
- Will not fit the 1.8i 16V or 2.0 GTI front hub
Tarox 318mm Sport: standard models at 17 inch
Step up to 318mm and the minimum wheel goes to 17 inch. The price is £2,050.00 for both the 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI kits. On an Ibiza MK2 that has already moved to 17 inch wheels, the 318mm is the natural step over the 300mm: 18mm more disc for £60.21 more. The 6-piston caliper stays the same; the bigger rotor handles heat better on a car that goes on track or does sustained fast road driving.
As with the 300mm, the two standard-model kits fit the same hub and are priced identically. The Cupra version is in the next section.
- £2,050.00 inc VAT (both standard variants)
- 318mm disc, 17 inch minimum wheel
- 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper
- Pads and braided hoses included
- ABS and ESP compatible
Tarox 318mm Sport: Cupra at 17 inch
The 318mm Cupra kit sits at the same £2,050.00 and the same 17 inch minimum wheel as the standard-model 318mm kits. Like the 300mm Cupra, this kit is engineered to the Cupra’s own front hub geometry. If the car is a Cupra and you want to go to 17 inch wheels alongside the brake build, this is the kit. The 18mm step over the 300mm disc is the same gain as the standard models, on a caliper that is already a step up from the Cupra’s factory setup.
- £2,050.00 inc VAT
- 318mm disc, 17 inch minimum wheel
- Built for the Cupra front hub
- 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper, pads and hoses included
- Not compatible with standard 1.8i 16V or 2.0 GTI hub
Tarox 330mm Sport: the 17 inch flagship
The 330mm kit is the largest disc in the catalogue for this car and costs £2,280.00 for all three variants. It shares the 17 inch minimum wheel with the 318mm, so if the car is already on 17s the difference is a 12mm larger rotor for £230 more. On an Ibiza MK2 used for regular circuit work, the extra disc size earns its keep: more surface area for sustained heat, and the 6-piston caliper stays the same across the 318mm and 330mm.
The three 330mm kits cover all three variants: 1.8i 16V, 2.0 GTI and Cupra. Select the one that matches your car using the same variant logic that applies to the 300mm and 318mm ranges. Ring Cameron with the car details if you are not certain.
- £2,280.00 inc VAT (all three variants at this disc size)
- 330mm disc, 17 inch minimum wheel
- Variants: 1.8i 16V, 2.0 GTI and Cupra (three separate listings)
- 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper, pads and hoses included
- Discs balanced to 0.05mm

Common questions
Why is the Cupra kit listed separately from the 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI kits?
The Seat Ibiza MK2 Cupra was fitted with a different front hub geometry from the standard 1.8i 16V and 2.0 GTI models. Tarox machine and test the Cupra kits to that hub specifically. A standard-model kit will not bolt to a Cupra front hub, and a Cupra kit will not fit the standard hub. If you are not certain which variant your car is, ring Cameron before ordering and he will confirm from the car's details.
Are pads and braided hoses included?
Yes. Every Tarox Sport kit in this catalogue comes with pads pre-fitted and braided hoses in the box. The price you see is the price for a complete working front setup. You do not need to budget separately for pads or hoses.
Why do the 318mm and 330mm kits share the same 17 inch minimum wheel?
The minimum wheel diameter is set by the caliper, not just the disc. Both the 318mm and 330mm kits use the same 6-piston Tarox Sport caliper, which requires 17 inches to clear. If the car is already on 17 inch wheels, the choice between the two is purely about how much disc you want: 12mm more at 330mm, for £230 more.
Is there a HiSpec option for the Ibiza MK2?
HiSpec Motorsport do not list kits for the Seat Ibiza MK2 front hub. The full range in this guide is Tarox. If you want to compare the included-pads approach of a Tarox kit against HiSpec's separate-pads pricing on a different car you own, give us a ring and Garreth will run through the finished-build numbers with you.
How long do Tarox kits take to deliver?
Tarox kits are built in northern Italy and stocked to order. Lead times vary, so ask when you place the order and we will give you the current picture. Most kits arrive within a few working days of ordering.
What we would actually fit
On a standard Ibiza MK2 already on 16 inch wheels, the 300mm kit at £1,989.79 is a strong starting point. Pads and hoses included, 6-piston caliper, confirmed 16 inch wheel clearance. The entry price in this catalogue and a complete build for the money.
On a car being taken to track and already sorted with 17 inch wheels, Garreth’s pick is the 318mm at £2,050.00. The extra 18mm of disc over the 300mm costs £60.21. At that margin, the bigger disc is the obvious call on a car that will be used hard.
For a car built properly for circuit work on 17s with no budget constraint, the 330mm at £2,280.00 gives the largest disc in the catalogue. The step over the 318mm is £230 for 12mm more rotor. On a car doing regular track sessions, that earns its place.
Make sure you have the right variant confirmed before ordering. If you are not certain, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 with the car details and he will sort it out before anything is ordered. That is the check that costs nothing but saves a return.
