Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Peugeot 307
The 307 came from the factory as a car that covered a lot of ground: base trims with 15 inch steels doing school runs, and Sport and S16 variants on 17 inch alloys doing track evenings by the time they had ten years on them. The ones that end up on this page are mostly the latter, or the ones that have been given a second life with a remap and coilovers and now find the standard brakes a limiting factor.
Six Tarox kits are available for the 307, running from 284mm to 360mm. HiSpec Motorsport do not list a kit for this car and neither does Brembo. We have checked both catalogues. The whole range here is Tarox, made at the factory in northern Italy, and every kit arrives with braided hoses and Corsa pads already fitted. The full 307 Tarox range is on the site if you want to browse it directly.
- Six kits from Tarox, 284mm to 360mm, all for the front axle
- Every kit includes braided hoses and Corsa pads, already fitted at the factory
- Standard factory wheel sizes: 15in on base trim, 16in on mid, 17in on Sport and S16
- The 305mm kit (16in) costs less than the 284mm kit (15in): pricing on the 307 does not follow disc size
- Minimum wheel sizes confirmed per kit from tarox.co.uk

The only brand that lists a kit for this car
HiSpec Motorsport and Brembo both cover a wide range of vehicles and we check their catalogues when a new guide goes up. Neither lists a kit for the Peugeot 307 at the time of writing. If a listing appears from either brand we will add it to this guide.
Tarox
Made at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from billet alloy and hand assembled, discs are heat treated and balanced to 0.05mm. Every 307 kit arrives complete: calipers, two piece floating discs, mounting bells, vehicle-specific brackets and fitting hardware, Corsa pads and braided hoses already fitted. Tarox state full compatibility with ABS and ESP.
HiSpec and Brembo
Neither HiSpec Motorsport nor Brembo currently list a kit for the Peugeot 307. We checked both catalogues before building this guide. If a kit becomes available from either brand we will add a section here. For now, all six kits on this page are from Tarox.
Your wheel size is the starting point
A bigger disc needs a bigger minimum wheel to clear the caliper. For the 307 that maps neatly to the factory trim levels: standard 15 inch wheels on base models fit behind the 284mm, 16 inch mid-trim wheels fit behind the 305mm, and 17 inch Sport and S16 wheels fit behind the three remaining kits. The wheel sizes in the table below are confirmed from tarox.co.uk per kit, not from the listing description.
| Kit | Disc diameter | Minimum wheel |
|---|---|---|
| 284mm Sport Compact | 284mm | 15 inch |
| 305mm Sport | 305mm | 16 inch |
| 318mm Sport | 318mm | 17 inch |
| 330mm Sport | 330mm | 17 inch |
| 340mm Super Sport | 340mm | 17 inch |
| 360mm | 360mm | Ask us to confirm |
Tarox 284mm Sport Compact: the kit for standard 15 inch wheels
This is the only kit in the 307 range that fits behind a 15 inch wheel, which makes it the straightforward choice for base and early mid-trim cars that have not had their wheels changed. The B32 caliper runs six pistons, the disc is a two piece floater balanced to 0.05mm, and everything arrives in the box including the pads and hoses.
One thing worth flagging: the 284mm Sport Compact costs more than the 305mm Sport kit above it. The 305mm needs a 16 inch wheel; if your car is already on 16s, or if you were planning to upgrade the wheels, the 305mm gives you a bigger disc for less money. The 284mm is the right buy only if 15 inch wheels are staying.
- £1,981.04 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 15 inch wheels
- 284mm two piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Six piston B32 caliper, hand assembled
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
- Costs more than the 305mm kit: see the section below
Tarox 305mm Sport: the bigger disc that costs less
The 305mm Sport is the most useful kit on this page for most 307 owners, and the pricing works in your favour in a way that does not usually happen. At £1,860.66 inc VAT it costs £120 less than the 284mm Sport Compact, despite carrying a 21mm bigger disc. Tarox price by bracket tooling and application, not by disc size, and on the 307 that means the step up to 16 inch wheels costs you nothing extra at the brake end.
For a car already on 16 inch wheels the decision makes itself. If you are on 15s and planning to change the wheels anyway, buy the 305mm first. It uses the same B32 six piston caliper as every other kit in this range, and pads and hoses are in the box.
- £1,860.66 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 16 inch wheels
- 305mm two piece floating disc, balanced to 0.05mm
- Six piston B32 caliper
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
- £120 less than the 284mm kit: this is correct, not a mistake
Tarox 318mm Sport: the 17 inch starting point
Sport and S16 trims came out of the factory on 17 inch wheels, and this is where the range starts for those cars. The 318mm disc is a step up in both diameter and thermal mass from the 305mm, which means more bite earlier in the brake pedal travel and more recovery time between heavy stops.
Same B32 six piston caliper, same two piece floating disc construction, same complete kit including pads and hoses. If the car sees regular track evenings and the wheels are already on 17s, start here and look at the 330mm only if you are running long sessions with hard braking late in the lap.
- £2,020.00 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 17 inch wheels
- 318mm two piece floating disc
- Six piston B32 caliper
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
Tarox 330mm Sport: for regular track use on 17 inch wheels
The 330mm earns its extra cost over the 318mm when the car does multiple hard sessions. A bigger disc holds more heat, which means the brake temperature stays in the operating window for longer and the pedal stays consistent through the second and third lap. On a car doing an occasional track day the difference is small; on a car doing eight to ten stints a season it shows up.
Everything else is the same: B32 six piston caliper, two piece floating disc, pads and hoses in the box. The 330mm is the end of the six piston range on the 307. If you want to go further, the 340mm Super Sport is a different caliper entirely.
- £2,280.00 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 17 inch wheels
- 330mm two piece floating disc
- Six piston B32 caliper
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
Tarox 340mm Super Sport: the full circuit build
The Super Sport is Tarox’s fast road and track flagship. One thing to read before buying: the listing calls it a 10 pot caliper. That was the specification of the older B34 design; the current B34GT that ships on this kit runs eight sequentially sized pistons. Sequentially sized means the pistons step up in diameter from front to back so pad wear is more even across the face as temperatures rise. The 307 range carries the B34GT; what arrives is eight pistons, not ten. Both numbers can be found on Tarox’s own product pages and both are technically valid depending on which caliper generation you are looking at. The one that is in the box is eight.
If the car runs serious circuit work and pad consistency over a long session matters, this is the kit. Pads, hoses and brackets are all in the box.
- £2,610.00 inc VAT, complete
- Fits behind 17 inch wheels
- 340mm two piece floating disc
- B34GT caliper, eight sequentially sized pistons (listing says 10; current caliper is 8)
- Corsa pads and braided hoses included and fitted
The top of the range: 360mm
Tarox list a 360mm kit for the 307 at £3,610.00 inc VAT. At this disc size and this price point we could not find a Tarox-published minimum wheel size for the 307 application. Ring us before ordering and Cameron will confirm the clearance on your specific wheel. There is no guess worth making at this price.
What is in each box
Every Tarox kit in the 307 range is a complete front axle conversion. Nothing is priced separately: the pads and braided hoses arrive from Italy already fitted in the caliper and packaged with the disc, mounting bells, vehicle-specific brackets and all fitting hardware. You bolt the kit on; there is nothing left to source.

Common questions
Is there a HiSpec option for the 307?
No. HiSpec Motorsport do not currently list a kit for the Peugeot 307. We checked the catalogue when building this guide. If a listing appears in future we will add a section here. All six kits on this page are from Tarox.
Is there a Brembo option for the 307?
No. Brembo do not currently list a kit for the Peugeot 307. We checked before publishing this guide. If that changes we will update the page.
Why does the 284mm kit cost more than the 305mm?
The pricing on the 307 range does not track disc diameter. The 284mm Sport Compact is £1,981.04 and the 305mm Sport is £1,860.66, so going bigger on the disc saves you £120. Tarox price by bracket tooling and application cost, and those factors move independently of disc size. Both prices are correct. If you are on 16 inch wheels, or planning to change the wheels, the 305mm is both the bigger disc and the lower price.
The 340mm listing says 10 pot. How many pistons are in the caliper?
Eight. The current Tarox B34GT Super Sport caliper uses eight sequentially sized pistons. The 10 pot description refers to an earlier B34 design and some listings have not been updated. What ships on the 307 kit is the B34GT, and the B34GT has eight pistons. The sequentially sized arrangement means they step up in diameter from front to back so pad wear is even as temperatures rise. This is the correct and current caliper for this application.
What wheel size does the 360mm kit need?
Tarox have not published a minimum wheel size for the 360mm on the 307 application. Ring us before ordering and Cameron will check clearance on your specific wheel. At £3,610.00 inc VAT this is not a kit to guess on.
Do these kits work with ABS and ESP?
Yes. Tarox state full ABS and ESP compatibility on every 307 kit. The kits replace the front caliper and disc while retaining the standard wheel speed sensors and hub geometry, so the system reads normally.
What we would actually fit
On a 307 keeping its standard 15 inch wheels, the 284mm Sport Compact is the only kit that fits, and it does the job. Just be aware before you buy that the 305mm Sport costs less, because if the 307 is due new wheels as well the smarter order is wheels first and then the brake kit.
On a car already on 16 inch wheels, the 305mm Sport is Garreth’s straightforward pick. Bigger disc, lower price, complete kit. There is no real argument against it for a road car that occasionally sees a track evening.
For track use on 17 inch wheels, the 318mm is the sensible starting point. The 330mm earns its extra cost if the car does multiple proper circuit sessions in a season; the extra disc diameter gives more thermal headroom when you are running hot laps back to back. The 340mm Super Sport is for a car that is built for the circuit, where pad consistency through a long stint matters more than anything else. Eight sequentially sized pistons, complete in the box with pads and hoses.
If the wheel size is unclear, or if you want to talk through which kit suits how the car is used, ring us on 0115 647 8650. Cameron handles fitment and wheel clearance on the Tarox range, so have the wheel make, model and size ready and he will give you a straight answer.
