Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Lexus GS300
Two things settle the right kit for a Lexus GS: the generation and the drivetrain. The S160 generation (GS300, GS400 and GS430, built from 1993 to 2005) and the S190 generation (GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h and GS460, 2006 to 2011) need different Brembo front brackets. The catalogues are separate and the kits are not interchangeable between generations.
The S190 also came with four-wheel drive. Every front Brembo kit on this page carries a hard exclusion for AWD models. If your GS has four-wheel drive, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before reading further.
HiSpec Motorsport list one kit for the GS family: a 325mm Billet 4 for the GS430, at £1,470 inc VAT. It does not cover any other GS model. Tarox do not list a kit for any variant of the Lexus GS. GS300, GS350 and GS460 owners are on Brembo. Brembo kits are six to eight weeks, made to order at the factory in Italy.
- One HiSpec front kit on this page: GS430 only, 325mm Billet 4, £1,470 inc VAT, 17-inch alloys minimum
- Tarox do not list a kit for any variant of the Lexus GS
- S160 generation (1993 to 2005): Brembo GT-A front kits at 332mm and 355mm two-piece, both £3,719.68 inc VAT

Brembo, HiSpec Motorsport and Tarox on the Lexus GS
HiSpec Motorsport list one kit for the GS: the 325mm Billet 4 for the GS430 only. There is no HiSpec listing for the GS300, GS350, GS400 or GS460. The kit covers the GS430 in both S160 (from 2000) and S190 (2006 to 2011, rear-wheel drive) generations. Cameron confirms the bracket version for the year of the car when you call.
Tarox do not list a kit for any Lexus GS variant in their 2026 catalogue. We confirmed this against the Tarox catalogue and the vehicle category on this site. No listing exists for GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h or GS460. If a Tarox listing is added for any GS model, this page will be updated.
Brembo cover the GS across both generations in the 2026 GT catalogue. The S160 carries the GT-A four-piston front kit at 332mm and 355mm two-piece, and is the only Lexus GS generation with a GT-A front kit listing. The S190 carries the GT-M, GT-S and GT-R six-piston front kits at 355mm, plus a GT-A rear kit. All S190 front kits exclude AWD variants.
Brembo GT Series
Made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy. S160 (1993 to 2005): GT-A four-piston front at 332mm and 355mm two-piece. S190 (2006 to 2011, non-AWD): GT-M six-piston monobloc cast, GT-S six-piston billet nickel, GT-R six-piston hard anodised billet, all at 355mm front. GT-A 345mm rear for S190 non-AWD. Six to eight weeks lead time on all kits.
HiSpec Motorsport
One front kit for the Lexus GS range: the 325mm Billet 4 for the GS430 only. Covers S160 GS430 (2000 to 2005) and S190 GS430 (2006 to 2011, rear-wheel drive). Does not cover GS300, GS350, GS400, GS450h or GS460. 17-inch alloys minimum. Pads and braided hoses priced separately.
Tarox
Tarox do not list a big brake kit for any Lexus GS variant in the current catalogue. We confirmed this by vehicle category and by product-name search. No listing exists for GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h or GS460. If cover is added, this page will be updated.
Wheel clearance
For the HiSpec 325mm Billet 4, the minimum wheel size is 17 inch. This comes from the published HiSpec specification for the GS430 kit.
For Brembo, wheel clearance is confirmed from the A, B and C dimensions on the Brembo caliper clearance drawing, linked from each product page. The A dimension is caliper height above the disc face; B is caliper depth to the wheel mounting surface; C is caliper width. Disc diameter is not the only factor: two kits at the same 355mm disc size can have different clearance envelopes depending on the caliper body.
HiSpec 325mm Billet 4 front kit (GS430 only)
HiSpec list one front kit for the Lexus GS family: the 325mm Billet 4 for the GS430, at £1,470 inc VAT. It covers the GS430 in both S160 (from 2000 to 2005) and S190 (2006 to 2011, rear-wheel drive) generations. Cameron confirms the bracket version for the year of the car when you call on 0115 9893488.
The caliper is a Billet 4: four pistons, machined from solid billet aluminium. The kit includes the caliper and discs. Pads and braided hoses are priced separately. Add both items before comparing total cost with a Brembo kit.
Minimum wheel size is 17 inch, confirmed from the HiSpec published specification. If the car is a GS300, GS350, GS400, GS450h or GS460, this kit does not apply: Brembo is the option from this page for those models.
- £1,470 inc VAT
- 325mm disc, Billet 4 caliper, four pistons
- GS430 only: S160 (2000 to 2005) and S190 (2006 to 2011, rear-wheel drive)
- Does not cover GS300, GS350, GS400, GS450h or GS460
- 17-inch alloys minimum
- Pads and braided hoses priced separately
Brembo GT-A front kits for S160 (1993 to 2005): 332mm and 355mm
Two Brembo GT-A front kits are listed for the S160 GS (1993 to 2005): 332mm and 355mm two-piece, both at £3,719.68 inc VAT. The caliper is GT-A on both: a four-piston two-piece aluminium body. The kits cover GS300 (with the 2JZ-GE engine), GS400 and GS430 in the S160 generation. Cameron confirms the exact build-date range for the car before ordering.
The 355mm kit uses a two-piece disc with a separate aluminium bell. The bell removes heat from the swept disc face more effectively than a solid one-piece disc and it is the format Brembo carry through all their current GT kits. You get the larger diameter and the two-piece construction at the same price as the 332mm solid disc kit. The bracket is the same caliper mount; only the disc and bell differ between the two.
Ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 to confirm the fit for your exact car and to get the current lead time. Six to eight weeks, made to order.
- £3,719.68 inc VAT for both 332mm and 355mm kits
- GT-A caliper: four-piston two-piece aluminium body
- Covers S160 GS300, GS400 and GS430 (1993 to 2005)
- 355mm kit: two-piece disc with aluminium bell at the same price as the 332mm
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted disc, same price either way
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
Brembo GT-M 355mm front: S190 (2006 to 2011), non-AWD
The S190 GS uses a different front hub from the S160. Brembo list the GT-M at 355mm with a six-piston monobloc caliper for all non-AWD S190 variants: GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h and GS460, 2006 to 2011. There is a separate product for each model name on this page, but the caliper body and disc are the same across the S190 non-AWD range. Only the bracket changes between model variants.
Monobloc means the caliper is machined from one solid piece of aluminium. No external bridge connecting the two piston halves. The result is a stiffer caliper under braking load, fewer potential leak points and lower unsprung weight than a two-piece bolted caliper at the same piston count. At six pistons the GT-M applies clamping force more evenly across the disc face than the four-piston GT-A.
The GT-M for non-AWD S190 is £4,295.95 inc VAT. If your GS has four-wheel drive, this kit does not cover it. Ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 to confirm the drivetrain before ordering.
- £4,295.95 inc VAT
- 355mm two-piece disc, GT-M six-piston monobloc cast aluminium caliper
- Covers all non-AWD S190 variants: GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h, GS460 (2006 to 2011)
- GS350 and GS400 listed separately; same caliper, different bracket
- AWD models are excluded from this kit
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted disc, same price either way
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
Brembo GT-S 355mm front: S190 (2006 to 2011), non-AWD
The GT-S covers the full non-AWD S190 GS range at 355mm: GS300 through GS460, 2006 to 2011. Same disc diameter and same AWD exclusion as the GT-M. The caliper body is billet aluminium with a nickel finish. Billet starts from solid bar stock, which gives Brembo tighter bore tolerances than a casting allows and a cleaner surface on the caliper exterior.
At £4,400.74 inc VAT, the GT-S is £104.79 more than the GT-M. The piston count (six), disc size (355mm) and brake lines are all the same as the GT-M. What you gain is the billet construction and the nickel finish. If the car does regular trackdays and billet construction is part of the brief, the step is a reasonable one.
- £4,400.74 inc VAT
- 355mm two-piece disc, GT-S six-piston billet aluminium caliper, nickel finish
- Covers all non-AWD S190 variants: GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h, GS460 (2006 to 2011)
- AWD models excluded
- £104.79 more than the GT-M at the same disc size and piston count
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted disc, same price either way
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
Brembo GT-R flagship: S190 (2006 to 2011), non-AWD
The GT-R sits at the top of the S190 Brembo range. Same 355mm two-piece disc as the GT-M and GT-S, same AWD exclusion for all S190 front kits. The caliper is machined from billet aluminium and hard anodised: the surface treatment Brembo carry across from their competition caliper work. At £8,329.97 inc VAT, the step from GT-S to GT-R is around £3,929.
Garreth’s view: the GT-R is for the owner who wants the competition specification and the hard anodised finish, and is not making a comparative decision against the GT-S. For road use and trackdays, the GT-S covers the brief. The GT-R is for anyone who wants the top of the Brembo GT catalogue for this car and knows what they are buying.
- £8,329.97 inc VAT
- 355mm two-piece disc, GT-R six-piston hard anodised billet aluminium caliper
- Covers all non-AWD S190 variants: GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h, GS460 (2006 to 2011)
- AWD models excluded
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
Brembo GT-A 345mm rear kit: S190 (2006 to 2011), non-AWD
A rear conversion is available for the non-AWD S190 GS. The Brembo GT-A 345mm rear kit is £3,719.68 inc VAT and covers GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h and GS460 from 2006 to 2011, all excluding AWD. The caliper is a GT-A four-piston two-piece body. The disc is 345mm two-piece with an aluminium bell.
Most owners fit the rear kit alongside a front kit. Cameron will work out a front and rear package price when you ring 0115 9893488.
- £3,719.68 inc VAT
- 345mm two-piece disc, GT-A four-piston two-piece aluminium caliper
- Covers all non-AWD S190 variants: GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h, GS460 (2006 to 2011)
- AWD models excluded
- Front kit required separately (see sections above)
- Made to order: six to eight weeks

Common questions
Does Tarox make a kit for the Lexus GS?
Tarox do not list a big brake kit for any Lexus GS variant in their 2026 catalogue. We confirmed this by checking the vehicle category on this site and by searching the Tarox catalogue by name. No listing exists for GS300, GS350, GS400, GS430, GS450h or GS460. If a Tarox listing is added for any GS model, this page will be updated.
Does the HiSpec kit cover the GS300 or GS350?
No. The HiSpec 325mm Billet 4 covers the GS430 only. There is no HiSpec listing for the GS300, GS350, GS400, GS450h or GS460 in the current catalogue. We have confirmed this against the HiSpec catalogue and the vehicle category on this site. GS300 owners are on Brembo for the front upgrade.
Do the S190 front kits fit the AWD model?
No. Every Brembo front kit for the S190 generation carries a hard exclusion for AWD variants. This applies to the GT-M, GT-S and GT-R front kits and to the GT-A rear kit. If your GS has four-wheel drive, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before ordering. He will check what options are available for AWD fitment.
Are the GT-M, GT-S and GT-R on the S190 fitted with the same disc?
All three front kits for the non-AWD S190 use a 355mm two-piece disc with an aluminium bell. The disc diameter is the same across all three. The bell profile can differ between caliper families as Brembo optimise it for each caliper body. Cameron will confirm compatibility if you are combining different kit levels for front and rear. Ring 0115 9893488.
Why does the 332mm GT-A for S160 cost the same as the 355mm two-piece GT-A?
Brembo list both S160 kits at the same price: £3,719.68 inc VAT. The 355mm kit uses a two-piece disc with an aluminium bell, which is more material and more machining than the 332mm solid disc. The pricing reflects how Brembo position the S160 range overall. For the buyer it means a larger disc and two-piece construction at no extra cost over the smaller kit.
How long does a Brembo kit take to arrive?
Six to eight weeks from order is Brembo's current lead time for made-to-order GT kits built in Italy. The caliper colour and disc face finish are set when the order is placed. The precise lead time can move through the year. Ask Cameron on 0115 9893488 for the current figure before you commit; he will give you the exact position from the factory before the order goes in. Nothing on this page is shelf stock.
What we would actually fit
For a S160 GS (1993 to 2005), the choice between the 332mm and the 355mm GT-A front kit is straightforward: both are £3,719.68 and the 355mm gives you a two-piece disc and a larger diameter for the same money. Garreth would take the 355mm every time. There is no reason to go smaller when the price is identical.
For a non-AWD S190 GS300, GS350 or GS460 (2006 to 2011), the GT-M at £4,295.95 is the right starting point. If the car does regular trackdays and billet construction is part of the brief, the GT-S at £4,400.74 is worth the extra £104.79. Garreth’s view: if you are spending four thousand pounds on brakes for a GS, take the GT-S.
For a GS430 owner on a tighter budget, HiSpec’s 325mm Billet 4 at £1,470 is a properly built kit. The cheapest Brembo S160 front option is around £3,720. If the budget is the constraint, the HiSpec covers the GS430 well and the 17-inch minimum clearance is not a problem on that car.
Ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before ordering anything on this page. He will confirm the generation (S160 or S190), the drivetrain, and the wheel clearance from the Brembo drawing before the order goes in.
