The Mondeo MK3 is the car in this series where the usual HiSpec pricing story does not quite hold. Most of the kits we list for other vehicles price the pads separately so you choose the compound; every one of the six Mondeo HiSpec listings bundles EBC pads straight in the box. Standard Road pads come with the two Billet 4 kits, Redstuff on the Monster range, and the Monster kits also include braided hoses. In practical terms, the out-of-box difference between HiSpec and Tarox on the Mondeo is smaller than it usually is.
On the Tarox side there are three Sport kits, 312mm, 318mm and 325mm, all in the 17 inch band and all priced within £119 of each other. Two brands, two ways of building a brake kit
Both companies machine their own calipers from billet aluminium and build each kit to the car. Where they differ is in the assembly and what they include in the box.
Tarox
Built at the Tarox factory in northern Italy. Calipers are CNC machined from European billet alloy, hand assembled, and individually tested. Discs are heat treated and hand balanced to 0.05mm. Kits arrive complete with Corsa pads pre-fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses already in the box. ABS and ESP compatibility stated. Disc faces available in F2000, Sport Japan, C83 and D95 styles; calipers in black, red, blue, green or gold.
HiSpec Motorsport
Machined in Dartford from 6082 T6 billet aluminium, calipers and pistons both. Every kit is made to order in up to 28 working days, with the calipers finished in your choice of black, red, blue, gold or silver. On the Mondeo MK3, every HiSpec listing includes EBC pads and DOT 5.1 fluid; Monster kits add braided hoses as well. Pads and hoses are not priced separately here as they usually are for other vehicles.
Wheel sizes: what each kit needs
The only kit on this page that clears 16 inch wheels is the HiSpec 300mm Billet 4. Every other kit needs at least 17 inch, and the 360mm Monster kits move that to 18 inch. The three Tarox kits all sit in the 17 inch band, so the wheel question does not separate them from each other. Depth is a separate conversation: a 17 inch wheel of the right diameter can still foul a caliper at the spokes. HiSpec 300mm Billet 4: the 16 inch kit
This is the only kit here that leaves 16 inch wheels on the car. The Billet 4 is HiSpec’s most popular four piston caliper, paired with a 300mm two piece floating disc. It is a proper step over the original single piston sliders without touching anything else on the car. EBC Standard Road pads and DOT 5.1 fluid are already in the box on the Mondeo listing; add braided hoses to the order if the original rubber is due a change.

HiSpec 325mm Billet 4: the 17 inch step up
Same Billet 4 caliper as the 300mm kit, with a 325mm disc behind it. Moving to 325mm shifts the minimum wheel to 17 inch and gives more disc leverage. At £1,470.00 it is six pounds more than the 300mm, which makes it the straightforward pick for a car already running 17s. Pads and fluid are in the box; braided hoses are still optional and worth adding if the standard hoses have not been changed.

Tarox 312mm and 318mm Sport: both in the 17 inch band
Two Tarox Sport kits that both clear 17 inch wheels and both arrive with Corsa pads pre-fitted and braided hoses in the box. The B32 is a six piston caliper machined from European billet alloy, the disc is a two piece floater balanced to 0.05mm. The 312mm lists at £2,010.00 and the 318mm at £2,020.00, so the extra 6mm of disc diameter costs £10 more for the kit. HiSpec 335mm Monster 4 and Monster 6: the track build
For a Mondeo doing track evenings on 17s, the Monster is where the HiSpec range earns its keep. The Monster caliper runs a pad one third longer than the Billet 4 for more surface grip, larger pistons for more clamp, and high temperature seals built for sustained abuse. On the Mondeo it also arrives as a complete kit: Redstuff pads fitted, DOT 5.1 in the box, braided hoses included. The Monster 4 is the default for most builds; the six piston version adds 63% more piston area, which matters on a car running big power or driven hard at track days.

Tarox 325mm Sport: the biggest Tarox
The largest disc in the Tarox Mondeo range, and the kit Garreth would point an ST220 owner at. Same Sport package as the two smaller kits: pads pre-fitted, hoses in the box, B32 six piston caliper, two piece floating disc balanced to 0.05mm. It costs £118.20 more than the 312mm for 13mm of extra disc diameter, and it still only needs 17 inch wheels. If you are weighing the three Tarox kits against each other, the question is how much disc you want rather than which size clears the wheels.

Above these sit the two 360mm HiSpec Monster kits. One pricing note before you order: the 360mm Monster 4 (£1,635.00 inc VAT) lists below the smaller 335mm Monster 4 (£1,650.00). That is a real number, not a typo, and it is flagged again in the compare table below. Both 360mm kits arrive complete with Redstuff pads, DOT 5.1 fluid and braided hoses, the same as the 335mm Monster range.
What is actually in each box
On the Mondeo MK3, neither brand charges extra for pads. Tarox include Corsa pads pre-fitted and braided hoses across all three Sport kits. HiSpec include EBC Standard Road pads and DOT 5.1 fluid on the Billet 4 kits, with braided hoses as the one optional item. Common questions
Which kit fits my 16 inch wheels?
Only the HiSpec 300mm Billet 4 clears a 16 inch wheel. Every other kit on this page needs 17 inch at a minimum, and the 360mm Monster kits move that to 18 inch. If the car is on standard alloys and you want to keep them, the 300mm Billet 4 is the kit.
Why does the 360mm Monster 4 cost less than the 335mm Monster 4?
That is a backwards price in the catalogue and there is no obvious reason for it. The 360mm Monster 4 lists at £1,635.00 inc VAT against £1,650.00 for the smaller 335mm kit. Both figures are real and come directly from the listing price. We have flagged it to the team. In the meantime, we would steer most Mondeo buyers toward the 335mm Monster kits anyway: they clear 17 inch wheels, arrive complete, and the backwards price does not change what the kits actually are.
Do I need to add pads and hoses to my order?
For the two HiSpec Billet 4 kits: pads and fluid are already in the box. Add braided hoses separately if you want them. For the four HiSpec Monster kits and all three Tarox Sport kits: pads, fluid (HiSpec only) and braided hoses are all included. There is nothing left to add before the kit is ready to fit.
Which of the three Tarox kits should I order for the Mondeo MK3?
All three clear 17 inch wheels, so the wheel question does not separate them. The 312mm (£2,010.00) is the entry point, the 318mm (£2,020.00) is £10 more for a slightly larger disc, and the 325mm (£2,128.20) is the biggest Tarox option for the car. On a standard Mondeo or a mild road build, the 312mm or 318mm is the sensible call. On an ST220 or a car with more power behind it, the 325mm is worth the extra.
Will these work with my ABS and ESP?

What we would actually fit
On a standard Mondeo keeping its 16s, the 300mm Billet 4 is the call and there is not a lot of thought needed. On 17s with a car that gets driven properly, Garreth’s default is the 335mm Monster 4: it arrives with pads, fluid and hoses ready, costs £1,650.00, and for most of the Mondeos we get asked about it is the right kit. The Tarox 318mm Sport sits at £2,020.00 and makes sense for a driver who wants the complete kit with Corsa pads and a named disc face and colour. On an ST220 or a modified car with more power, the Tarox 325mm Sport is the pick Garreth would push toward.
