Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Chevrolet Corvette
Four generations of the Corvette are on this page. C5, C6, C7 and C8 each use a different front hub geometry, which means the kits are not interchangeable across them. Brembo catalogue separate bracket numbers for each generation, and the year matters as much as the model badge.
The C8 is a different proposition from the C5, C6 and C7. Mid-engined from 2020, the engine sits behind the cockpit for the first time in Corvette history. That weight distribution shifts more load onto the rear brakes. The brake specification changed: the C8 is the only Corvette generation currently listed with the GT-BM caliper, which uses Brembo’s 4D internal-passage technology. None of the older generations are listed with it.
Tarox and HiSpec Motorsport do not list a front big brake kit for the Corvette. Every kit on this page is Brembo. All kits are made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy at six to eight weeks lead time.
- Brembo only: Tarox and HiSpec do not list a front big brake kit for any Corvette generation
- Four separate hub geometries: C5, C6, C7 and C8 each have their own bracket numbers
- C6 Z06, C6 Grand Sport, C7 Z06 and C7 Grand Sport with factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes: caliper kit not available (see the CCB note below)
- C8 is the only generation listed with the GT-BM 4D caliper option
- Six to eight weeks, made to order in Italy

Brembo on the Chevrolet Corvette
Tarox and HiSpec Motorsport do not list a front big brake kit for the Corvette. We have checked both catalogues and the Corvette vehicle category on our site. There are no listings for any generation. Every kit on this page is Brembo.
The Brembo GT family covers all four Corvette generations in the 2026 catalogue. The GT-A (two-piece disc, cast caliper) covers rear kits on the older generations. The GT-M (monobloc cast) handles front kits from the C5 onwards and rear kits from the C7. The C8 is the first Corvette generation to get the GT-BM, which uses Brembo’s 4D internal-passage technology: fluid channels machined directly into the caliper body instead of running through an external bridge. The GT-R billet hard anodised caliper sits at the top of the range for C8 front and rear.
The Corvette’s generation-by-generation hub changes give Brembo’s catalogue its structure. The disc and caliper body stay consistent within a generation; the bracket changes to suit each model’s specific hub geometry. That pattern runs from the C5 through to the C8.
Brembo GT Series
Made to order at the Brembo factory in Italy. The Corvette catalogue covers C5 through C8 with four caliper families: GT-A for rear on C5 and C6; GT-M for front and rear from C5 through C8; GT-BM for C8 front and rear only; GT-R for C8 front and rear as the top specification. All discs come cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted at the same price. Caliper colour is set by the last digit of the part number at order.
Tarox and HiSpec Motorsport
Tarox and HiSpec do not currently list a front big brake kit for any Corvette generation. We have confirmed this through both catalogues and the Corvette vehicle category on our site. If either brand adds cover for the Corvette, this page will be updated. The Brembo GT catalogue covers all four generations thoroughly enough that the absence of these two brands is not a shortfall.
Wheel clearance
Brembo publish a caliper clearance drawing for most GT kits, and each product page links to it. The drawing gives three key measurements: A (caliper height above the disc face), B (caliper depth from the disc face to the wheel mounting surface) and C (caliper width). These numbers determine whether a wheel clears the caliper. The disc diameter alone does not.
C5s often run 17 or 18-inch alloys. Later generations step up to 19 and 20 inches with a different wheel offset profile. A GT-BM caliper at 380mm on the C8 does not share its clearance envelope with a GT-M at 380mm on the C7. Two calipers at the same disc size can have completely different A, B and C dimensions because they are different caliper bodies entirely.
C5 front: GT-M 350mm
The Corvette C5 (1997 to 2004) uses a front hub geometry that differs from the C6 onwards. Brembo list the GT-M 350mm 6-piston as the current front kit for the C5. The GT-M caliper is a monobloc cast aluminium body, a step up from the two-piece GT-A construction: one solid casting, no flex at the caliper bridge during heavy braking.
At £4,191.18 inc VAT the C5 front kit is the entry point for the Corvette range in the current Brembo catalogue. The 350mm disc is a step up from the C5’s standard front rotor. Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted at the same price; caliper colour is set by part number at order.
Six to eight weeks made to order. Ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 to confirm the correct bracket for your build year and check the current colour options before placing the order.
- £4,191.18 inc VAT
- Chevrolet Corvette C5 (1997-2004) front hub
- 350mm two-piece disc, 6-piston GT-M monobloc cast caliper
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted, same price
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
C6 and C6 Z51 front: GT-S 365mm
The standard C6 (2005 to 2013, excluding Z06 and Grand Sport) and the C6 Z51 performance package are both listed with a 365mm front disc in the current Brembo GT catalogue. Two separate products, both at £4,400.74 inc VAT, cover the C6 base and the Z51 with their respective caliper brackets. The disc is the same part; the bracket differs because the Z51 hub geometry differs from the standard C6.
The GT-S caliper is billet aluminium. Cast aluminium starts from a casting; billet starts from a solid bar of material with no void or grain from a casting process. Brembo carry the billet approach across from their competition caliper work. The caliper has a nickel finish on the GT-S.
The C6 Z06 and Grand Sport have their own front hub geometry and separate listings. The kits here are for the standard C6 and C6 Z51 only. If the car is a Z06 or Grand Sport, see the next section.
- £4,400.74 inc VAT (both C6 and C6 Z51 listings)
- Standard C6 (2005-2013, excluding Z06/GS) and C6 Z51 front hub
- 365mm two-piece disc, 6-piston GT-S billet aluminium caliper, nickel finish
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted, same price
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
C6 Z06 and Grand Sport front (iron brakes only): GT-S 380mm
The C6 Z06 and C6 Grand Sport use a different front hub from the standard C6, and Brembo catalogue them separately. For C6 Z06 and Grand Sport cars with factory iron brakes, the GT-S 380mm is the recommended front kit at £4,767.47 inc VAT. The 380mm disc is 15mm larger than the standard C6 front option and suits the heavier brake demands of the Z06 on track.
For the top specification, the GT-R 380mm front is also in the range for the C6 Z06 and Grand Sport at £8,906.26 inc VAT. The GT-R caliper is machined from billet and hard anodised, the surface treatment Brembo use on competition calipers.
These kits are for iron-brake C6 Z06 and Grand Sport cars only. If the car has factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes, no caliper kit applies. See the CCB note at the top of this page. If there is any doubt about whether the car has CCB, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before ordering.
- GT-S 380mm: £4,767.47 inc VAT
- GT-R 380mm: £8,906.26 inc VAT
- C6 Z06 and C6 Grand Sport, iron brakes only
- 380mm two-piece disc, 6-piston GT-S billet nickel or GT-R hard anodised billet
- Cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted, same price
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
C7 and C7 Z51 front: GT-M 350mm or GT-S 380mm
The C7 generation (2014 to 2019) uses a front hub geometry that changed again from the C6. Brembo list two recommended front options for the C7 and C7 Z51: the GT-M 350mm at £4,191.18 inc VAT and the GT-S 380mm at £4,767.47 inc VAT.
The GT-M 350mm is the entry point. The 350mm disc matches the C5 front option in diameter, but the part numbers are entirely different because the C5 and C7 hub geometries share nothing. If the car does regular trackdays, the GT-S 380mm at £4,767.47 is worth the additional spend. The 30mm disc diameter difference delivers useful additional thermal mass at sustained track temperatures.
The C7 Z06 and C7 Grand Sport use the same front bracket as the standard C7 and C7 Z51. The rear hub is different: the Z06 and Grand Sport have specific rear kits listed separately. See the rear section below. Any C7 Z06 or Grand Sport with factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes is excluded from all caliper kits on both axles; ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 if there is any doubt about the car’s brake spec.
- GT-M 350mm: £4,191.18 inc VAT
- GT-S 380mm: £4,767.47 inc VAT
- Chevrolet Corvette C7 and C7 Z51 (2014-2019) front hub
- GT-M is monobloc cast aluminium; GT-S is billet aluminium with nickel finish
- Both 6-piston; cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted disc, same price
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
C8 and C8 Z51 front: GT-BM 380mm and GT-R 380mm
The C8 launched in 2020 with the engine behind the cockpit for the first time in Corvette history. The front hub geometry changed again from the C7. More importantly for brake buyers, the C8 is the only Corvette generation listed with the GT-BM caliper.
The GT-BM uses Brembo’s 4D internal-passage technology. On the GT-A and GT-M calipers, brake fluid runs through an external bridge connecting the two halves of the caliper body. On the GT-BM, Brembo machine the fluid passages directly into the caliper body itself. No external bridge. The structure is stiffer for the same piston surface area, and the unsprung weight is lower. The C8 and C8 Z51 GT-BM 380mm 6-piston front kit is £4,767.47 inc VAT.
At the top of the C8 range is the GT-R 380mm 6-piston at £8,906.26 inc VAT. The caliper is machined from billet and hard anodised, the same surface treatment Brembo use on competition calipers. Garreth’s recommendation for most C8 owners is the GT-BM: it is the most technically current specification in the Corvette range and it stops the car well for road and track. The GT-R is for the owner who wants the definitive finish and the hard anodised surface.
The C8 Z06 is a separate question. The listings here cover C8 and C8 Z51. If the car is a C8 Z06, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before ordering: he will confirm what applies for that variant before anything is committed.
- GT-BM 380mm: £4,767.47 inc VAT (6-piston, 4D internal-passage technology)
- GT-R 380mm: £8,906.26 inc VAT (6-piston, hard anodised billet)
- C8 and C8 Z51 (2020 onwards) only
- 380mm two-piece disc, cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted, same price
- Made to order: six to eight weeks
Rear kits for all Corvette generations
Every Corvette generation has Brembo GT rear options. The C5 and standard C6 rear use the GT-A 345mm cast caliper. The C7 and C8 rear step up to the GT-M 380mm, and the C8 rear adds GT-BM and GT-R options at the same 380mm disc size.
The C6 Z06 and Grand Sport rear hub takes a larger 380mm disc than the standard C6 rear. Three options for C6 Z06 and Grand Sport rear (iron brakes only): GT-M 380mm at £4,034.00 inc VAT, GT-S 380mm at £4,138.78, and GT-R 380mm at £7,439.34. Ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 to order these: the products are in the range and he will confirm the correct bracket for your build year.
The C7 Z06 and Grand Sport rear also uses a different bracket from the standard C7. Three options for C7 Z06 and Grand Sport rear (iron brakes only): GT-M 380mm at £4,034.00, GT-S 380mm at £4,138.78, and GT-R 380mm at £7,439.34. Again, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 to confirm before ordering.
If you are planning a combined front and rear conversion, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before placing the order. He will check the brake balance across the axles for your specific variant and confirm the correct part numbers for both ends.

Common questions
Does Tarox or HiSpec make a big brake kit for the Corvette?
Neither Tarox nor HiSpec list a big brake kit for the Chevrolet Corvette in their current catalogues. We have checked both catalogues and the Corvette vehicle category on our site for all four generations. There are no listings. The only brand in our range with a front big brake kit for the Corvette is Brembo. If either brand adds cover, this page will be updated.
Can I fit a GT kit to a Corvette with factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes?
No. Corvettes built with factory CCB use a different caliper mounting arrangement on both axles. A Brembo GT caliper kit cannot be fitted to those hub geometries. The CCB exclusion applies to C6 Z06, C6 Grand Sport, C7 Z06 and C7 Grand Sport variants. The listing names make it explicit: excluding Carbon Ceramic Brakes. If you are not certain whether the car has CCB, check the factory build sheet or ring Cameron on 0115 9893488 before ordering.
Why does the C8 get the GT-BM when older generations do not?
Brembo released the GT-BM as a more recent development in the GT family. The 4D internal-passage technology requires different tooling and machining. Brembo have applied it to the C8 Corvette listing; the C5 to C7 generations are not covered by that caliper in the current catalogue. If you have a C5, C6 or C7, the GT-M monobloc at the equivalent price point is the correct specification for those hub geometries.
Are the C7 and C8 front kits interchangeable?
No. The C7 and C8 use different front hub geometries and different bracket part numbers. A C7 bracket will not mount a GT-BM caliper designed for the C8. The disc sizes and caliper bodies may overlap in dimension, but the mounting hardware is generation-specific. Ordering the wrong generation listing is the most common Corvette brake enquiry Cameron handles, so he will always confirm the generation before anything goes on order.
How long does a Brembo kit take to arrive?
Six to eight weeks from order is Brembo's current lead time for made-to-order GT kits built in Italy. The precise figure can move through the year. Ask when you call on 0115 9893488 and we will give you the current picture before you commit. Brembo GT kits are not shelf stock: each one is built to the caliper colour and disc face specification chosen at order.
Can I run a front and rear conversion at the same time?
Rear kits for all generations are listed in the rear kits section above. Before ordering a combined front and rear conversion, ring Cameron on 0115 9893488. He will check the brake balance across the axles for your specific variant and confirm the correct part numbers for both ends before anything goes on order.
What we would actually fit
For a C5, the GT-M 350mm at £4,191.18 is the kit. It is the current front option in the 2026 catalogue for this generation and a genuine step up on the standard C5 front rotor.
For a standard C6 or C6 Z51, Garreth’s recommendation is the GT-S 365mm at £4,400.74. The billet caliper and the 365mm disc suit a C6 that sees road and track use. It is well matched to the car’s weight and the way most owners drive it.
For a C6 Z06 or Grand Sport with iron brakes, the GT-S 380mm at £4,767.47 is the pick. The Z06 brakes harder and the larger disc handles the heat better at track temperatures. Confirm iron brakes before ordering.
For a C7 or C7 Z51, Cameron’s recommendation depends on how the car is used. Road-only: the GT-M 350mm at £4,191.18. Regular trackdays: the GT-S 380mm at £4,767.47. The 30mm disc diameter difference matters at sustained track temperatures, and the additional spend is worth it if the car genuinely gets used at track days.
For a C8 or C8 Z51, the GT-BM 380mm at £4,767.47 is the specification Garreth would fit. The 4D internal-passage caliper is the most current technology in the Corvette range and it is only available for the C8. The GT-R at £8,906.26 is for the owner who wants the hard anodised finish and wants to know the caliper is at the top of what Brembo make for this car.
Ring us on 0115 9893488 before ordering. Cameron will confirm the right bracket for your model year and variant, check wheel clearance from the Brembo drawing against your current alloys, and give you the current lead time from the factory. Nothing on this page is shelf stock.
