Our Top Recommended Big Brake Upgrade Kits For Your Fiat Stilo

There are two types of Fiat Stilo in this catalogue: the Abarth and the 1.9 JTD. The practical difference for this page is which kits are on the table. The Abarth has one Tarox option at 310mm and the Brembo Gran Turismo at 305mm; the 1.9 JTD has all four. The starting question is which engine is in the car, not which size you want.

Four kits across two brands: Brembo and Tarox. No HiSpec listing exists for the Stilo. The Brembo at £1,584.70 inc VAT is the most affordable kit on this page, which is unusual because Brembo typically sits at the top of a ladder. It is also made to order in Italy with a six to eight week lead time. The full Fiat Stilo range is on the site if you want to browse the kits direct.

  • Brembo Gran Turismo at £1,584.70 inc VAT: cheaper than the Tarox entry for this car
  • Tarox has a separate listing for the Abarth and one for the 1.9 JTD at 310mm, same price, different brackets
  • 330mm and 340mm are listed for the 1.9 JTD only; ring us if your Stilo is the Abarth and you want a larger disc
  • Titles for the 330mm and 340mm say 10pot: both calipers are B34GT, 8-piston sequential
  • Pads and braided hoses included in every Tarox kit; Brembo is made to order, six to eight weeks

Brembo and Tarox for the Fiat Stilo

HiSpec do not list a kit for the Fiat Stilo, so this guide covers two brands: Brembo and Tarox. Brembo produce all of their big brake kits to order at the Brembo factory in Italy; you get Italian-made hardware at 5% under UK retail, but with a six to eight week lead time rather than a few days. Tarox kits ship from the UK warehouse, arrive complete with pads and hoses, and are available for both the Abarth and 1.9 JTD variants.

BM

Brembo Gran Turismo

One kit for the Stilo: a 305mm front conversion with Brembo's own caliper. The GT family sits below the GT-A and GT-M in the Brembo range; it is a cast-caliper kit aimed at road and fast road use, not dedicated circuit hardware. Priced at £1,584.70 inc VAT, it is the most affordable kit in this catalogue for this car. Caliper colour is set by the last digit of the part number. Lead time: six to eight weeks, made to order in Italy.

TX

Tarox Sport and Super Sport

Three Tarox kits at 310mm, 330mm and 340mm, all front conversions. The 310mm lists separately for the Abarth (KMFI0706-STI) and the 1.9 JTD (KMFI0531-STI); the 330mm and 340mm list for the 1.9 JTD only. Every kit includes Corsa performance pads fitted in the calipers, vehicle-specific braided hoses, mounting brackets and fitting hardware. External link: tarox.com.

Which engine decides the kits

Tarox list kits per engine variant, which matters here because the Abarth and the 1.9 JTD do not share the same bracket application at every disc size. At 310mm, two separate listings exist: KMFI0706-STI for the Abarth and KMFI0531-STI for the 1.9 JTD. Same price, same disc and caliper specification, different brackets. Both clear 16-inch wheels.

At 330mm and 340mm, only 1.9 JTD listings exist. If you have an Abarth and want a disc larger than 310mm, ring us on 0115 9893488 and we will check with Tarox whether a bracket application can be sourced for your car. The Brembo Gran Turismo at 305mm is available for both variants.

Abarth owners: one Tarox size, one Brembo optionThe 310mm Tarox Sport (KMFI0706-STI) is the only Tarox kit with an Abarth-specific listing. The 330mm and 340mm both list for the 1.9 JTD only. The Brembo 305mm Gran Turismo is also available for the Abarth.

Wheel sizes across the range

Minimum wheel diameter is confirmed per Tarox kit from tarox.co.uk, not estimated. For Brembo, the clearance drawing is on the product page: the drawing gives the A, B and C dimensions so you can measure your spokes before ordering.

Wheel diameter is not the whole storyA wheel of the right diameter can still foul the caliper at the spokes. Tarox publish a clearance template at tarox.com for the spoke check. Give Cameron the wheel make, model and offset when you ring on 0115 9893488 and he will confirm spoke clearance before anything gets ordered.

305mm Brembo Gran Turismo

The Brembo Gran Turismo at £1,584.70 inc VAT is the cheapest kit on this page, which is not the usual situation for Brembo. Tarox kits typically start below Brembo and run upward; on the Stilo, the Brembo 305mm sits below every Tarox option. The reason is that 305mm is a physically smaller disc than the 310mm Tarox entry, and Brembo’s production and overhead structure lands this particular kit at a lower price point in the UK market than the Tarox equivalent.

The Gran Turismo uses a cast Brembo caliper, not a monobloc or billet unit. For a road-driven Stilo that sees occasional track days, it is a genuine step up from stock. The disc is available cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted at the same price; caliper colour is a free option. Caliper clearance is the one area where Brembo provides their own dimensioned drawing, so the product page carries a clearance PDF with A, B and C dimensions.

  • £1,584.70 inc VAT (most affordable kit in this range for the Fiat Stilo)
  • 305mm cross-drilled or Type 3 slotted disc at the same price
  • Brembo GT caliper: cast, 4-piston
  • Caliper colour is a free option (last digit of part number)
  • Made to order in Italy: six to eight weeks lead time
Clearance drawing on the product pageRather than a minimum wheel inch figure, Brembo provide their own caliper clearance drawing with A, B and C dimensions. The PDF is on the product listing. Measure your spokes against those dimensions before ordering.

310mm Tarox Sport

The 310mm Sport comes in two separate listings: KMFI0531-STI for the 1.9 JTD and KMFI0706-STI for the Abarth. Both are at £2,094.00 inc VAT, both use a 310 x 26mm disc with a B32 six-piston caliper, and both clear 16-inch wheels. The difference is the bracket application: the JTD and Abarth use different front upright geometry, so Tarox machine distinct brackets for each variant.

For the Abarth, this is the only Tarox kit available in the current catalogue. For the 1.9 JTD, it is the entry Tarox kit, with 330mm and 340mm options above it. Both listings arrive with Corsa pads fitted and vehicle-specific braided hoses in the box. Caliper colours available: black, red, blue, green or gold anodised.

  • £2,094.00 inc VAT (Abarth and 1.9 JTD listings at the same price)
  • 310 x 26mm disc, B32 six-piston caliper
  • Clears 16-inch wheels (confirmed from tarox.co.uk per SKU)
  • Only Tarox size for the Abarth; entry kit for the 1.9 JTD
  • Corsa pads fitted, vehicle-specific braided hoses included

330mm Tarox Sport: 1.9 JTD

The 330mm Sport is listed for the Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD only. No Abarth-specific listing exists at this size in the current catalogue. At £2,365.30 inc VAT, it uses a 330mm disc with the B34GT caliper and clears 17-inch wheels. The B34GT is an 8-piston sequential caliper, not 10-piston, despite what the product title says: the title is a known labelling error in the series, and the description and caliper code both confirm 8 pistons.

At 17 inches of wheel clearance required, this kit is a better match for a 1.9 JTD that is already on larger alloys than the factory 16-inch options. Pads and hoses are in the box as standard across the Tarox range.

  • £2,365.30 inc VAT (1.9 JTD only)
  • 330mm disc, B34GT caliper
  • Clears 17-inch wheels (confirmed per KMFI0606-STI from tarox.co.uk)
  • 1.9 JTD specific; no Abarth listing at this size
  • Corsa pads fitted, vehicle-specific braided hoses included
The 10pot label on this kitThe product title says 10pot. The caliper is a B34GT, which runs 8 sequential pistons; the description on the listing confirms this. We will update the title when Tarox issue the correction. In the meantime, treat the title as a labelling error: the kit is 8-piston.

340mm Tarox Super Sport: 1.9 JTD

The 340mm Super Sport is the largest disc in this range and is listed for the 1.9 JTD only. At £2,610.00 inc VAT it requires 18-inch wheels. The caliper is again the B34GT, 8-piston sequential, not 10-piston as the product title implies: the same labelling situation as the 330mm. The disc steps up to 340mm, the caliper is dimensionally larger than the B32 unit in the Sport kits, and the whole package is aimed at a Stilo that spends regular time on track.

If your 1.9 JTD is on 18-inch wheels and you want the most disc the Tarox catalogue offers for this car, the 340mm is it. All Tarox inclusions apply: Corsa pads fitted, braided hoses, brackets and hardware in the box.

  • £2,610.00 inc VAT (1.9 JTD only)
  • 340mm disc, B34GT caliper
  • Requires 18-inch wheels (confirmed per KMFI0476-STI from tarox.co.uk)
  • 1.9 JTD specific; no Abarth listing at this size
  • Corsa pads fitted, vehicle-specific braided hoses included
The 10pot label on this kitThe product title says 10pot. The caliper is B34GT, 8 sequential pistons. Same labelling situation as the 330mm. The description and caliper code are correct; the title will be updated when the correction comes through.

What is in each box

Tarox and Brembo include different things, and the headline price gap narrows once you add the parts Tarox put in automatically.

These are front kitsAll four kits on this page are front axle conversions. The standard rear brakes remain in place. For the vast majority of road and fast road use, a front-only conversion gives the benefit: the rear disc on a hatchback contributes far less to total stopping power and pedal feel than the fronts do.

Common questions

Which kit fits the Fiat Stilo Abarth?

Two kits list specifically for the Abarth: the Brembo Gran Turismo 305mm (ID 2206) at £1,584.70 inc VAT, and the Tarox 310mm Sport (KMFI0706-STI, ID 4051) at £2,094.00 inc VAT. The 330mm and 340mm Tarox kits do not have an Abarth-specific application in the current catalogue. If you want a larger disc on the Abarth, ring us on 0115 9893488 and we will check with Tarox whether the bracket application can be extended for your car.

Why do the 330mm and 340mm titles say 10pot?

It is a labelling error in the product titles. The calipers on both kits are B34GT/B360, which run 8 sequential pistons. The description on each listing and the caliper code itself confirm 8 pistons. We are waiting on Tarox to issue the corrected titles; in the meantime the spec in the description is accurate. Do not take a piston count from the title on these two kits.

Why is the Brembo cheaper than the Tarox entry?

The Brembo kit uses a 305mm disc versus 310mm for the entry Tarox, and Brembo's production structure for this particular kit lands it below the equivalent Tarox in the UK market. It is not a general rule that Brembo is cheaper than Tarox. On most vehicles the Brembo is two to three times the price. The Stilo is an exception. The trade-off is lead time: the Brembo is six to eight weeks made to order in Italy; the Tarox ships from UK stock in a few days.

Can I fit the 330mm or 340mm on a Stilo Abarth?

Not from the current Tarox catalogue. Tarox list the 330mm and 340mm against the 1.9 JTD only. The Abarth uses a different front upright, and the brackets for the larger discs are currently only machined for the JTD application. If this changes, the catalogue will update. Ring us on 0115 9893488 and we can confirm the current position and check with Tarox whether a custom application is possible for your car.

Do the kits come with pads and hoses?

Every Tarox kit includes Corsa performance pads fitted in the calipers and vehicle-specific braided hoses. Hardware and brackets are in the box. The Brembo kit does not include pads or hoses; both are separate purchases. If you want a like-for-like comparison between the Brembo and a Tarox kit, add pads and hoses to the Brembo price. For most Stilo applications, Tarox-compatible braided hoses run £80 to £120 and a set of Brembo pads starts around £60 per axle.

What we would actually fit

For the Stilo Abarth, the 310mm Tarox Sport (ID 4051) at £2,094.00 is where Garreth would start: the only Tarox kit listed for that engine, fits on 16-inch wheels, complete with pads and hoses. For an Abarth on a tighter budget, the Brembo 305mm at £1,584.70 is worth a look, with the understanding that it is made to order in Italy and the lead time is six to eight weeks.

For the 1.9 JTD, it depends on the wheels. On 16-inch alloys, the 310mm Tarox Sport is the straightforward choice. On 17s, the 330mm is the natural next step. On 18s with serious track use in mind, the 340mm Super Sport. The Brembo on a JTD is an option if a longer lead time is acceptable: it is the most affordable kit in this catalogue, a fact worth noting when you are comparing Italian-made hardware.

Any fitment questions on your specific Stilo, ring on 0115 9893488 and Cameron can go through the bracket application and spoke clearance with you before anything gets ordered.
